To say I don't date people from my own ethnic background? I am a black woman who has never been on a date with a black man in my life; neither have I slept with a black man in 16 years, and I'm 32. I don't date a lot to be honest, but when I do, it's always white people. I have nothing bad to say about black men - there are good ones and bad ones out there just like with all men. Just like with all people for that matter! I don't see a problem with people like me, who have a tendancy to date outside their race. I just think you make a connect to a person according to their spirit or personality rather than their skin colour or cultural background. However, a LOT of black people - especially women - would find it very offensive to hear of a black person never dating their race, and that annoys me to be honest as I think it's none of their business and not an issue. I don't find black men attractive, and never have done. I don't know why as there are some who are gorgeous, and I would never rule out dating a black man in the future, but I DO prefer to date white men as I do find that I tend to feel more attraction towards them. I don't know if I'd call it a preference or just a tendancy but this is honestly how I feel and I'm just interested to know your thoughts about it.

I don't think it is up to someone else to tell you who you should be attracted to. If you go out of your way so that everyone knows you only date a certain type you may be presenting yourself as differently than how you want to come across, though.

I'm usually only attracted to brunettes, but once I dated a redheaded Robert-Redford-look-alike, and I think I'm the better for it

I don't make a big issue outta the fact that I tend to date a certain type of person, but if you ask me, or the subject comes up I won't lie either.

I don't really have a preference although I usually end up going out with darker men, well the typical Irish look of black hair, sallow skin and brown eyes... but they seem to be the kind who are attracted to me for some reason maybe that's cos that's what most Irish men look like

I don't know where I'm going with this. I've never dated outside of my race and I don't think I would either... and this includes not only ethnicity but different cultures in general. I'd have nothing wrong with going out with a black Irish man but I wouldn't go out with a white French man or whatever. Not to say I wouldn't, anything could happen, but... ah, I'm rambling :rolleyes:

Are you rejecting black men on the basis of the colour of their skin??? No... of course not.. so it's not racist. You prefer a certain type of guy, that's the way it goes. But.. never say never... I always went for the same kind of man (very tall - 6.4/6.5, chiselled/strong features with very black or very blond hair and ripped body).. the man I married is 5.9 with mousey hair!

Je ne comprends pas. J'etais courrement quand j'y habitais mais maintenant je le parle seulement quand j'ai trop bu . J'habitais a Paris il y a 8 ans.

You got a crappy one or two. For a good number of reasons, frenchmen are still high on my list (if I had a list, of course!!!!). And it's not because I'm French...

For a good number of reasons, French men are LOW on MY List but that doesn't mean that the French are bad people or anything
