OLS keep on truckin' man. I need you around here for an opposing view-point.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire
Staying positive is the key. There is a strong mind/body connection with the immune system.
You know I love ya, and I'm a big fan of self-healing, and creating one's reality. I agree with you, and to go a step further, one thing I found to be very important in my healing, and that I've uncovered in the various books on healing--one, most notably in Canadian doctor Gabor Mate's "When The Body Says No", is that it's crucial to feel ALL our feelings, not just the positive ones. That book lists illness after illness that is believed to be contributed to by the repression of certain, and especially "negative" emotions. So, I agree, people need to stay positively focused, and within that perspective, make sure that it's considered positive to face, and feel all emotions, even anger, frustrations, etc--feel it, and release it and move on. Especially anger, frustration, etc. The personality profile's of people with certain illnesses are shown to present similarily--and in some cases people are known to repress emotion, and such correlations with ill-health have been studied and are noted. I've read that it's those who deal with their process and their emotions and release them that have a better outcome. Not those who deny or cling to old and new emotional traumas.

Hey thanks. It kinda clicked for me (originally) when I started noticing friends and family catching colds more often when they were tired and stressed, or depressed.
Anything to nurture the immune system is my approach, and being happy is right up there with the best of the best.
Cleaning up the mental filter is paramount and a continual process...but you know that
We are all so incredibly lucky to be at the very top of this planet's hierarchy in this unique place....to be able to be aware. It's really quite awesome.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

I don't know, but I'm sure some in this area could use it. It's just our house is under "lots" of doug firs. Even when it is sunny we get none on our house. I love it though, keeps our house very temperate. We're always at least 10 degrees cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. If you could get energy from moss we'd be in!
I love those doug firs.
You live in the Ewok forest/village.
Lots of us up here do.
You can eat moss, that's energy.
Isn't that gray moss called old mans beard?
You can eat that, I tried it once.
I remember the post which you refer to as " The Experiment ".
It was ridiculous and you were absolutely foolish in your approach to writing that " Experiment ".
For a "scientist" performing an " experiment" you sure have a lot to learn about communication.
You're a fool if you think the amount of responses to your ridiculous post, is any indication of the character of anyone on this board and the extent and depth of involvement of people's work and contribution to society or any given cause. Equally foolish is your poorly thought out, narrow-minded and infantile assumptions and so-called "results " from your " "And You Still Fall For It " ......experiment.
Did you really believe that post was an appropriate approach/prose, in addressing such an important and significant subject matter? You mean to tell me you were actually serious in that post? Holy crap! Now that's some funny shit!
I'm guessing that most here, as I, thought your post was a written as a drunken joke.
I love when people think they can evaluate and profile other people (as if they know them on a personal level) , simply by their posts on a message board. Unbelievable.
I suppose I can play the same game as you and use your approach.
Hmmmmm.......my experiment in evaluating you by your posts on this message board, would be none to flattering for you.

I don't get the blame game going on here at all in either direction.

Roland what do you want from me? I have no answers. I only know what I know and I only know that I'm tired of the same old people getting so caught up in the "debate" that they cannot see past their own noses.

To be fair to the people of this forum:
When I typed in http://www.ag.com... it sent me to 'www.AmericanGreetings.com'... the greetings card company. A search for 'solar' returned these results: http://www.americangreetings.com/ecards/search.pd?strSearch=solar&lpage=search
There was nothing about Solar Power or Global Warming listed there... although you'd think they'd have at least one card regarding Global Warming.

When I went to http://www.agriculture.com... I went to 'TALK' and did a search for 'solar' and got 2 hits... totalling 17 responses (the same number of responses from the original thread that is the subject in this forum). One was 'Women In Ag' talking about the heat and trying to cool down cows and a response about cutting down solar gain in windows... the other was about Global Warming and a response about Northern Lights being caused by Solar Flares. http://dgroups.agriculture.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=agriculturez&nav=search&br=All&q=solar

My personal assessment is that based upon the information that is currently available, this forum had the greatest number of responses regarding the use of solar power:
17 to 0 from ag.com

17 to 5
17 to 12 from agriculture.com
(Although the true numbers are 17 to 0 and 17 to 0 regarding Solar Power)

OLS is extremely sick, he said so early on in the thread...
If OLS is extremely sick, then he gets all of my well wishes and good vibes, but he didn't "say so early in this thread" - all he said was "i've been given a limited time to live so i won't be here..." Hell, we all have a limited time to live, I didn't infer that he was extremely sick and death was imminent from that quote... I guess I can't read minds from vague posts on a message board like you and him.

wow... there are some over dramatic people around here lately...
what I learned today on the message board:
1) Ignoring what seemed to be a venting post about solar power that I can't use in my apt or can't afford = not caring for anyone in this world
2) Questioning someone's polling methods = wanting to dance on their graves

That's another very important aspect. The folks in the UK are pretty much overcast all the time. So it's a bust for them.
thats actually a bit of a myth... Tiree, an island off scotland had 300 days of sunshine one year... the Western Isles of Scotland actually have a great deal of sunshine per year comparative with say Virginia or somewhere..
we get some good averages of sunshine here in UK.. especially here on the coast where i live

Note: Rockets burn solid rocket fuel made from aluminum powder and the Space Shuttle is powered by liquid oxygen after the twin solid rocket boosters are jettisoned.
Not all rockets burn solid fuel and the SRBs of the Space Shuttle use a composite fuel made of Ammonium Perchlorate, Aluminum Powder, Iron Oxide, and a rubber binding agent. The Shuttle's three main engines (liquid Hydrogen and Oxygen) are ignited seven seconds before the solid rocket boosters are ignited. The Shuttle is powered by the three main engines and the SRBs for the first two minutes of ascent. The boosters burn out and are jettisoned and the Shuttle continues for the next 6.5 minutes powered only by the three main engines.
I for one like the idea of solar, I don't like the cost. That about ends it for me right there. But on the flip side of life: I use candles instead of light. If it wasn't for the need of heat in the winter, I would barely have an electricity or gas bill to speak of. Our recycling in our house produces one whole garbage bag in a two month span if we are lucky. I think we do more then most for helping the planet without the wealth to buy solar. So I have to laugh at the people who get all defensive when you appear on the board to chat. I will admit that between the links that you, Polaris and a few others have put up in the threads that discuss solar have been nice to read and absorb.
many have noticed my DON'T GIVE A **** attitude the last few weeks. i've been given a limited time to live so i won't be here. but i do care about what kind of world my grandchidren will have to live in.

I really wouldn't worry so much tree he'll be dead soon and you can be one of the charming individuals dancing on his grave.
Give me a break.
First of all, I responded to his thread starter post.
So in your book, it's okay for this guy to come in here and basically attempt to insult, attack and denegrate everyone's integrity and personal character.
It's okay for him to be so pretentious that he assumes he can evaluate and determine all the MT people's character, honesty, integrity and contributions to society and to important/significant causes? He basically said a large majority of the MT members are phonies, who only talk about these issues; but never do anything through action.
Why is it okay?
Does this guy know that many MT members are very active in protesting important issues on both a local and national level, working hard to fight some of the most serious of issues at hand; as well as very active in supporting and working to aid charities, and the poor/hungry in our respective communities? Does he know how many hours of hard work, food, essential goods and money the MT people have devoted and donated to these causes?
No, apparently he does not. Maybe if he got to know some of the MT people, on a personal and friendly level, as opposed to assuming that his ridiculous "experiment" post was the all-encompassing and definitive character analysis and evaluation of the character of MT people; then maybe....just maybe; he'd refrain from making such absurd generalizations.
I find it interesting you are even defending his actions. The MT are like a swarm of sharks converging on a bleeding prey; anytime anyone even comes off with something that even can be remotely interpreted as a generalization or stereotype. Yet you're defending and justifying a guy who just attempted to insult and denegrate a whole group of people, all at once.
Amazing how that works. Where's the consistency?
Ultimately, I couldn't care less what he thinks his "experiment" revealed. His assumptions and insults don't mean a damn thing to me, personally. His "experiment results" don't change the truth.
But there are an awful lot of good people here at the MT, who do a lot of good, hard work.
Not to mention that I think he's full of crap.
If he truely is sick and dying, then, he has my sympathy and empathy. Not just for him, but for his family, too.
But why would he want to spend his remaining time alive, by attacking and attempting to insult everyone on the MTl; based on such weak and shallow nonsense? He doesn't know us all on a personal level. And for one to assume these things on such a ridiclous "experiment" that utilized such ridiculous approach; does not speak well for his intentions.
That's all I'm getting from you today. But then I don't see that any of my comments where directed at you anyway, so clearly you were bored and decided you weren't getting enough attention.
When you make blanket statements they are pretty much directed at everyone...
Like I said, if he is truly sick, my heart and thoughts go out to him and his family... my mother luckily beat ovarian cancer, and having gone through that, I would never wish suffering on anyone.
But OLS has burnt his share of bridges here, and annoyed a lot of people with his arrogant, sometimes judgmental attitude, and when he makes things up to support his argument and then ignores responses/corrections when he gets called on it.
As far as the responses that people receive here, they tend to reap what they sew. It's not hard to figure out the dynamics of this place, and people who purposely push the right buttons to get responses shouldn't be surprised when they happen.

So I have to laugh at the people who get all defensive when you appear on the board to chat. I will admit that between the links that you, Polaris and a few others have put up in the threads that discuss solar have been nice to read and absorb.
I didnt see this post and I'm really sorry to hear this. you have many friends here and support. keep your head up
Give me a break.
What was harsh was some goofball thinking he knows everyone on the MT, on a personal level. That's what was harsh.
Furthermore, excusing him for this behavior because "he's sick" is absolutely shortsighted.
I just feel sick to my stomach.

Uh yeah. maybe one day you'll learn to see the forest from the trees.

Oh and let me guess? You're gonna show me right?
So much compassion. You astound me.
