Here's my take. There is probably a seed of truth here, but only time will tell what that seed actually is. The rest is spin, ment to scare people, using that darn "terror alert" system is the biggest bunch of bologna I'v ever heard.

Honestly, I believe that 40 years down the road, people will look back at this time in our history the same way many of us look at the cold war. All of the every day americans named "enemies of the state" because of supposed communist ties and the like. I wonder how many of those people were actually threatening?

That brings the issue past a theoretical threat, and therefore should be proven, and tried by every day citizens in court. After the fact, we have a right to know exaclty what happened. No offence but trying to smuggle nitroglycerine through an airport in a sealed container would make the most relaxed man sweat bullets...to carry that would require some serious guts....it would be easier to blow up the airport than actually get it on the plane....

With the November elections around the corner, I have heard a lot of people say in jest that its just a matter of time until the terror threat level is raised so that the Bush/Blair propaganda machine can remind people why the world is the way it is now (Iraq, Patriot Act, Oil prices etc..).
And here we are in the mists of another "thwarted" attack. In my opinion, its so easy to declare victory over an invisible enemy and I am not buying it.
