Its not the guns fault, its americas fault for not outlawing it.

Absolutely not. By this (extremely flawed logic) it would be the government's faul for not outlawing alcohol or cars everytimg a drunk driver crashes.

Exactly. It sickens me that people always want to blame or look to government for everything. In my experience the people who have that attitude are probably much more likely to commit acts similar to the one being discussed.

what sickens me is that that poor girl died for no other reason than a fucking idiot was allowed to get a gun in a country where guns are more common than manners

what also fucking sickens me is that that girl might not have truly accepted god into her life and so she now resides in hell... doesnt she know1?

We all die for no reason....but perhaps her death had more reason than most considering it was so well publicized that it might influence the living.

i said she died for no OTHER reason than ....

her life was cut short by a maniac... a gun wielding maniac... i'm interested to see if that guy acquired the gun legally :)

wow, 6 pages already and no one mentioned HOW THE HELL THIS GUY GOT INTO THE SCHOOL?
were there any security measures in place at this school?
was the gunman an employee of the school system or did he just walk into the building?
i'm not trying to be a smart ass, just wondering why this hasn't been mentioned

    THANK YOU!!!

Appearently the guy was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a backpack...He had a hat on with the hoop up...he just walked into the school...this is where I have issues, aren't our schools a little safer than this?

I believe that neither the government or this kid were bad. It was all gods fault for crossing the lines in the people's brains who make guns and want to kill. When the government just isn't enough.....take the next step and go straight to god. ;)

If he acquired it illegally, then your whole argument is null and void.

how so? if he acquired it illegally then i'm just as concerned if not more so... how can it be so easy to acquire a gun illegally... i could spend weeks searching in Scotland for someone to sell me a gun.

If he bought it legally then its interesting to see what checks were or werent made.. if he acquired it illegally then its intersting to know how easy he got hold of that gun

whats null and void in that!

    does it go like this:-

me: 5000 kids die each year using their daddies guns that they find under the bed, these guns are legally owned except that one case in Wichita where the guy was an ex-crim and didnt acquire it legally, but i still think gun control should be tighter and had guns banned from the home

you: that 1 guy acquired his gun illegally you know, therefore your entire argument is null and void

    me:

Maybe so, but you're aren't the type of person who is going to go on a murderous rampage now, are you? The type of person who IS more likely to do so (gang members, career criminals, terrorists, "survivalists", people who join violent subcultures, etc.) is also more likely to know how to get a gun illegally.

And your point about daddy's guns is a good one ... That's why there are safe storage laws in most juristictions. Those who don't have such laws deserve to be criticized, but that's not the issue here.
  • what gun laws?

Your point about banning guns ... How is it supported if this man did indeed get his gun through legal means?

because he's obviously a murdering fuckhead.... so i'd be interested to see how he managed to get a gun.. if he acquired it legally wouldnt that mean he had to fill in some forms or meet certain mental criteria... do you guys not check up on any of this shit... could he have just went and bought it that morning?!??

He wouldn't have acted on impulse if guns were hard to get.

c'mon man... if he was acting on impulses and he had no gun to use how far would have he got with an extra big lump of cheese... fuckin nowhere!!!

he had to get the gun to carry out his impulses... take away the gun part of it and all you have is one pissed off mental fucker with a blob of cheese

Guns are the only way to murder people?
Moreover, how do you know what would or would not have changed this guy's impulsivity?

thats the American way isnt it.... people dying all over the country to negligent use of guns and yet you all defend it!!!

if 500 scottish kids were dying each year due to a sport called "scythe catching"... then i'd want it banned, or at the very least... big padded gloves!!!

Lets do a bit of role play.

Mental man: I'm gonna go on a shooting rampage. I'll just to go to my draw, there's my gun, away I go!

    But, with gun laws:

Mental man: I'm gonna go on a shooting rampage! I'll just go get my gun...no wait, guns are bad. Oh well.

First of all, putting shit in your sig doesn't make said shit reality.
Sorry if I offend, but I am getting tired of people assuming I am an American because I happen to know that guns laws aren't the only solution to violent crime. To answer your question, here in CANADA, you need to pass several different checks in order to receive a firearms license. Despite this, most of the hundgun deaths in our big cities have nothing to do with these laws, because they are commited with illegal weapons that arrive across the border.
I'd say that more border security is a possible answer, but then I'd get all these Euros freaking out at me for being scared of terrorism. It must be nice to live in a utopia. Get the all rioting fucks off your streets and then tell people over here on this continent what to do.

guns make it easier to murder people... take Columbine... they killed 16(?) kids that day..

if they had no guns but they had big knives say or baseball bats with nails in it... then 1 or 2 unlucky people might have died, but not 16.. its easier to overcome someone who doesnt have a gun rather than someone who has!!! its a great way to murder people!
