Yea. When it comes to truth propositions.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire0 -

when did i say that? theology is required for graduation period. it has nothing to do with law. i'm talking about the college prep in wilmette illinois. what the hell are you talking about?0 -

Theology is required for graduation from what?
Oh I see, Loyola Academy, not Loyola University....
A Jesuit.... yea that's not bias.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire0 -

i see where i went wrong. when i said it was taught by jesuit priests; i assumed everyone would know which loyola i meant. sorry about that.0 -

it's my own fault. i try to rush through answers and it just gets me in trouble. i'll try to be more forthcoming with the details. the colleges i attended were all in illinois. i came west to retire in 1996 and got bored. please question me if i don't give all the information. i'm not trying to be cryptic; just fast.0 -

It's more about being surprised you didn't already know it, so you decide to make sure you are properly informed as to verify something you perhaps didn't know for future reference
the question is returned mostly out of wanting closure to that specific branch of thought without having to speculateProgress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

This isn't the land of opportunity, it's the land of competition.0 -

Speaking of context???? Was that in the years of during Christ? Because as some are quick to point out. This it 2007 and things like stoning and anything that was relevent back then, sure don't hold any weight right about now. According to some. Can't pick and choose now can we. David Blain can levitate???????!!!!!!!You've changed your place in this world!0 -
onelongsong wrote:to 87% of the world; 2000 and 4000 year old texts are relevent today. they had to be written as they were to keep that relevance through out time. you can nit-pick anything to death. look at this board. it's done with every subject. just because you look and see nothing; doesn't mean there's nothing there. what you're saying is a 2000 year old document is not relevent although it has proven the test of time for 2000 years and a majority of the population find the relevence.
i think what you should be saying is YOU don't/cannot/will not see the relevence.
Jesus and his lawyer are coming back; but why should he revamp anything for you? most of the population sees. thus no need to revamp.
They see, yet don't seem to follow. Thus very irrelevant. How many kill in the name of religion. Even your boy Bush has god on his side as he drops bombs. So for the people who point out that they say killing is not mentioned in the bible and then spit out that the bible is still relevent, seem to have to choose one or the other. Can you really be pointed in the direction of killing in the book and then tell me it is all about love and caring. Just to see nuts using religion to kill and have god on their side. Shakespeare is still relevent for some people who like to hold on to old things. Same with the bible.
Global warming will cause a flood and people will point to god and that we should build an ark. A little late probably, but someone will make it into a religious thing and sheep will buy it hook line and sinker. Those same sheep that seem to think that instead of living a decent life here on Earth, they can do what they want and get salvation in a later life. You've changed your place in this world!0 -
So when you people vote. Do you vote according to your religious ways? If you don't you just proved how irrelevant it really is.You've changed your place in this world!0

and i will kill in the name of self defence. the branch dividians did something in the name of God. were they right? people kill in the name of personal profit; are they right? people kill. some use guns; some use knives; some use bombs or even jumbo jets. some kill for drugs. many kill out of anger. even more kill for land. more people kill for reasons other than religion. if someone was about to kill your child and you had to kill them to save your child; you will kill that person. you can tell me you wouldn't from now till the second coming but when it happens; YOU WILL KILL.0
