    Stone Gossard is named after two things.

    Stone = Stone Washed.
    Gossard = fabric, clothing


    So, in short, Stone Gossard is named after stone-washed jeans.

    Stone Gossard in his junior years once threw a Styx LP at the local schoolyard bully whilst cursing him with evil names for his evil ways. It has since come to be known that the young kid responded to a crowded playground with the phrase, 'Styx and Stone may break my bones but names will never hurt me'.

    *On a side note, a young Stone would often been seen dancing to Styx's 'Mr Roboto' in the Music Room at Lunch time.
