For the 05 Canadian Tour, Ames Brothers ( http://www.bigpopposters.com) offered a presale of the first run prints, signed and numbered, but you had to buy the ENTIRE set all at once, and without seeing the posters/designs prior to the sale.
I forgot the entire set price- ( it had to be a few hundred )- but they offered "extra goodies " , ( maybe someone who pre-purchased knows the details on these items ) I know they offered a limited edition Wayne Gretzky print.

Aside from the Gretzky print, the "goodies" kinda sucked. There was a double-sided test run of one of the posters, a poster of some other non-PJ event entirely, and an Ames keychain. Plus they included the two Klausen prints. And yes, it was a few hundred bucks, but I think it was worth it - for the most part, I love 'em.
  • I agree with the assessment of the Canada 2005 posters, except for one.

    Vancouver 2005
great poster, small, colorful and a great simple design, it screams 'canada'
i love how the words are hidden in there too
whenever i look at it on my wall i think of that whole experience up in Canada for the show.

the rest of them sucked, but Vancouver was the only show I went to, so...

  • What still gets me is that at the 2 Canada shows I went to (Kitchner and London) the posters were selling like hot cakes. Then just 3-4 months later, everyone is slamming them..."they suck"..."whats with this/that design"..."they're ugly". I love my posters that I got from those 2 shows and display them proudly on my walls. I agree that I probably won't buy a poster from the shows on this tour that i didn't go to, but that's just my own preference. If someone doesn't like the design of the posters, don't buy one and let someone who wants one get theirs.

It would also be nice to get a poster option when buying tickets for shows thru 10c.( i usually get shut out at the shows) but i guess thats asking too much -however-- i am grateful for the tickets & everything else you do for us-

If everyone got the posters, they wouldn't be quite as valuable or unique. I like the idea that not every 10c member has every single poster.

value varies from 1 person to the next, 1 poster to the next .
I am not concerned so much about value as i am to availability- i like to have posters for the shows I attended, with the exception of personal favorites and artsy editions.
to each their own, as the saying goes,...

Is anyone into LEBO's work? I just went to Langerado Festival and noticed this name on all the artwork for the weekend. There's some really good stuff in there, but I don't know if it would be Pearl Jam's style.

    rhinomagic:--is this who you meant?

i dont know if i could see PJ on this artists easel- its a bit too much " cartoonish" but hey you never know for sure. Kind of reminds me of those few posters from 03, ( san diego, mountain view & irvine) , with the little kids on them,.

Yeah, that's the one. I thought it was fun in the context of the festival I went to. Bought a poster there by an artist named "Wood". It's closer than LEBO to being in Pearl Jam's style-set.

Wasn't there something about someone had contacted Ames and they were being very inconclusive with their answers? That's all I meant.
  • best case scenario....we get phat posters. Im keepin my fingers crossed....redoing my bedroom and a framed PJ concert poster would certainly add the finishing touches....haha

Calgary, Thunder Bay and Saskatoon are great posters. London and Hamilton were good. The rest were ok. As for the Klaussen posters, Borgata is great. Philly and the Gorge are ok.

As for limiting the number of prints --- what's the point? It's nice to own a rare poster I guess, but it's not like they are really worth that much. I say flood the market and then you won't have people profitting off of the posters and everybody who wants one can have one. They should at least print posters for half of the people who attend the shows.

thats a great idea also( flood market ). I for one only really desire the posters for shows that i attend. Yes, i have a few rarer, more collectible editions for my personal collection- but i can go the rest of the way with only posters from the shows i attend. It would be great to be given a chance to prepurchase the poster when we check out our tickets thru 10C. . But they can only coordinate so much,( we know they are extremely busy ). It was just a thought,...rather then deal with mystery poster sales later on down the road.

    thanks 10C

I agree - it's more satisfying to have posters from the shows you were at. But at the same time, I have a few extras as well.
