He deserves jail time at least a year and a half. The man has proved to be a violent savage. what a fuckhole.
no sympathy.
He'll get 2 years at least with good behavior 14-18 months and rightfully so.
Question: I wonder if there would still be all this uproar if he had killed a human being instead. When Ray Carruth had his girlfriend killed, or Ray Lewis was accused of murder I didn't see or hear all this uproar in those incidents?

This is especially true in the south where the dog fighting is more prevalent. Sure there are exceptions and we all hate to "generalize" but when it comes to percentages of minorities in sports (it isn't actually a reflection of our society is it?). If you are grasping at straws trying to figure out the whole "racism" structure then ask yourself why it is more blacks are in sports?
Whenever someone trys to answer this question they end up getting the "Jimmy the Greek" treatment. How dare we sound so "racist" when it is so taboo. We should be more intelligent and educated than to stoop so low.
So basically my point would be, you can take Vick from the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto from Vick even after pouring hundreds of millions of $$$$ in his lap. Same can be said for numerous other athletes whose skin color really doesn't make a difference....right?
What about Rick Tocchet? Hockey player, obviously white. Had a whole gambling ring which included Wayne Gretzkys WIFE.

All white guys busted for either gambling or drugs. Most with jail time, or WILL face Jail time.
I could go on about Brian Urlacher's indescretions with Paris Hilton and divorcing his wife and two children, Mark McGuires alledged steroid use. Jeremy Giambi's admitted steroid use. Mark Chumera's pedophilia problems, David Kircus of the Broncos assault charges.
As far as more black athletes than white athletes, again that has nothign to do with how dumb or smart they are.
I understand what you are saying, but when you insert the word minority, it takes on a whole new meaning. To me, it sounds like you are saying they are "another dumb minority", meaning "just like every other dumb minority. "Turn this anger into

Peace
There are simple reasons for that.
Neither guy was as popular as Vick. (Ray Lewis was on the brink of becoming a star, not yet a star.)
Neither case has as much evidence.
And quite frankly, both of those cases were one time instances. People are almost more forgiving when its one big incident, and then over. But NEITHER case had as much PROOF as the Michael Vick case. And Vick has been doign this for YEARS......Theres too much evidence to ignore it. And hes a quarterback. Highest profile position.Turn this anger into

My point is, we throw a college scholarship at a lot of minorities not for the sake of education (we could care less if they are educated as long as they can play ball) we place them on a pedestal and are always "so shocked" when their "true colors" show. Like I said though there's always exceptions...you can list them...you did as a matter of fact. Some of those guys are pretty old though. We could make seperate lists and see who can come up with the most criminals. I wouldn't count steroids and infidelity though (just to narrow the list down some)the Minions0 -

I'm trying to walk a line against racism here but I'm not sure my point is understood. It's like saying..."white people like country music".... It's not an accurate statement entirely but as statements go it's a darker shade of gray than..."black people like country music"
It's just an observation like ...you know... that feeling you get when you walk into a club you've never been to before and you see alot more men there than women. Know what I mean? Test your own skills of prejudice.
Most people are all of a sudden "holier than thou" when ugly prejudice shows up. If you think Mike Vick is being persecuted, what about Don Imus? But if I could talk to anyone here for just 10 minutes I could find out just how much a hypocrite you are. That goes for anyone here...every one of you is prejudice one way or another.the Minions0 -
I hope Paris Hilton does something stupid next... Vick is getting boring...Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

I'm so happy Vick found god, maybe that will help in the after life, but in this one (on earth), he's not really sorry for what he did, he's just sorry he got caught.CONservative governMENt

I believe he should be given a lifetime ban from the NFL and it will be given. However, the NFL's Labor Union will appeal and he'll be given a reinstatment around the year 2010 or 2011. Will he ever play again who knows but IF he stays very clean, gives back to the state of Virginia and the country then and only then may this be possible.
So just like our Commander and Chief can claimed he's turning his life over to Jesus or born again then MV can also make this claim.
Funny how people who have committed criminal acts always tend to claim they've found Jesus.

The same could be said about our President.

Write this one down and remember it when I'm right....
After watching how the press has handled the Vick stuff these last few days ("a poor kid with a rough upbringing - it's not his fault!!!"), as well as the NFL's and Falcons' resistance to say he's gone from the NFL forever, I will say right now that Michael Vick will return to the NFL and it will be an absolute media & money avalanche.
It will be like Mike Tyson's return to the ring; it will be huge, and it will make TONS of money. The season will sell out, tv audiences will be huge, and corporations will be paying premium prices to get advertising on screen during the return of Vick.
There may be a backlash, but ultimately it will all come down to winning and money, and those things tend to make folks have short memories. Any boycotts will be insignificant and will eventually go away.Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0 -
I need some help... there is a joke in here somewhere..
Virginia Tech...... The Korean (dog eaters) dude that shot up all those folks ....and Mike Vick (dog fighting Hookie)

That's a bit of an overstatement. I can't speak for everyone, but when I hear some famous jerkoff goes off and kills his wife, family, brother, sister, whomever, I do feel bad for that person. Usually, those people had some indication that something was wrong and could have attempted to get away from said asshole. However, when a defenseless person is harmed (child, person of below mental capacity) or an animal, who to no fault of their own is tortured, beaten, or just flat out killed, then you will continue to have a larger outcry, period. The Benoit story stayed in the headlines as long as Vick. That didn't involve dogs. I don't believe that dogs or any animals are superior to humans, however I will reserve a harsher criticism for anyone who kills or hurts a child or pet. Sorry."The leads are weak!"

Ray Carruth isn't playing football anymore is he... and Lewis was accused but found not guilty, so I don't see what barring that holds.
VIck on the other hand pleaded guilty to multiple charges - besides the obvious of animal cruelty (which people are in an uproar about), the charges that really hold weight in legal terms and ramifications for his fututre in the NFL is that of gambling and running a gambling ring. Obviously playing professional sports and running any type of gambling ring is gonna be a problem.g under p wrote:He'll get 2 years at least with good behavior 14-18 months and rightfully so.

If Vick had taken a person and hooked them up to a battery and electorcuted them, or slammed them up against a wall until they were dead, or shot them execution style in the back of the head after forcing them to fight...........i am willing to bet people would be even more pissed off and disgusted.Seeing visions of falling up somehow.
