do you not believe that the 2 potenial leaders of the country can't do anything more. i am glad that teh agreement is done, but don't you think that if let's say the agreement was not done that obama and mccain woudl have been able to sway people to get in fixed. if you don't think so then that says alot about the 2 people running for president.

They've made their points, and they've added their provisions. It's not like they're going to stand over every single person in their caucus and bully them into signing the bill? besides...they don't have to be in Washington to do that....do they?

I understand what you are saying about leadership and I completley agree. However, I think that Obama has managed to show this leadership without having to pull that bullshit that McCain tryed to pull yesterday.

Did you hear what day McCain wants to re-scedule the debates?

October 3rd....Hmmm....such an odd day to pick...wait a minute...

Isn't that the same day as the (one and only) VP debate?

Well they do actually have to be present to vote but the vote will not be for a few days.

Okay, they'll be their to cast their respective votes... But it's no excuse to be absent from the debates.

Apparently it's cost the University of Miss. 8 million dollars of their own money to put on this debate.

There will be more than a few people pissed off if McCain bails.

No he definietly should be able to make the debate. Congress has agreed on a plan. It's being presented to Bush and Paulson and a vote will be expected in a few days. He has no excuse to miss the debate.

I got to say ... people complaining that the University of Mississippi may lose money as a reason to have the debate, that's just silly ... we're talking about $700B dollars ... I'm sure they'll throw those people a $8M bone.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have the debate, but, let's not worry too much about Ole Miss ...

Obama is very much involved in this issue in case you didn't notice and he has been speaking about this shit alot longer than McCain who's only seemed to take a dip in this pool in the last 26 hours; coincidentally the precise time his polls began to slide.

Obama has led the way in making sure that this 3 PAGE BILL be modified and revised so that it has the necessary provisions placed on it to meet his and the Democrats approval. Obama is making sure that the American people aren't going to get their asses screwed on this bailout.

John McCain has done neither and at this very moment is probably sitting on some toilet on Captial Hill trying to wrap his head around this whole thing.

Obama is leading on this issue without the grandstanding of John McCain. Obama isn't claiming to be jumping on his horse to come save the day and he sure as fuck isn't taking a break from the campaign.

    It's called multi tasking
    It's called Leadership

None of which that numb nut geezer McCain has remotley shown in regards to the economy.

All in fun Gonzo, all in Fun! :)

Does the 1977 stand for the last time you got laid? ;)

Ok, back on topic...McCain made a huge play here...it backfired...it certainly put him in a hole for the election, and unless Palin changes and produces a great debate (I'm leary now) it's all over.

    Now Now.
It was the year I was born actually.

    Anyways...

McCain had better come up with something quick or else this shipwreck of a campaign will continue to spin down the shitter.

McCain at campaign HQ, making calls

After a late night flying back to Washington, McCain is at his campaign HQ making calls to push a deal on the financial bailout, according to a top aide.

He won't be headed to Capitol Hill today.

As for why not, Mark Salter told the campaign pool reporter: "Because he can effectively do what he needs to do by phone."

The campaign is to put out a list of people he called later.

Salter also said they felt good about the debate, responding to the Obama campaign and some observers who thought the Republican was condescending.

We’re all very happy about it…it was very tough debate but I don’t think our
candidate went over the line," Salter said. "He stayed on offense in a respectful way."

So ... he CAN effectively do what he needs to by phone ... see, no need to "suspend his campaign" or hurry back to Washington ... what a lugnut.
