    why didn't our lax gun laws prevent this from happening...? I mean, it's fairly easy to get a gun...how come the ease of ownership did not stop this event...?

    this thread is about hindsight isnt it?

    well on the news they were showing the cops reacting to the tragedy... and i swear to you one of the cops must have been about 20stone (loads of pounds) in weight... he was running towards the scene of the tragedy and all i could think was "how the fuck did that fat shit get a job as a policeman"

    so with hindsight... cops should be able to run to crime scenes quicker, cos if that korean guy had escaped then Boss Hog wasnt going to catch him... the only thing that fat cop could run after was a candy covered sloth..
    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    OK... hindsight....

    The first two people were killed in the dorm... the next 31 two hours later...
    what happened during those two hours? Have the first shots not been heard? Had the police not been called? Why was he not stopped? Why did he have two hours of total freedom? Could this carnage have therefore been avoided (OK.. so the fat policeman couldn't run fast enough.. but there were others..)?

    Sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere, but I don't know...

    I don't have a problem with screenings, waiting periods etc but that isn't going to prevent people from getting guns. Do you think if someone wanted to get a gun they'd have to do it in a store legally? Marijuana is illegal, cocaine is illegal..does that stop the purchase and use of either of them?

    Illegal substances or objects are not impossible to obtain.... It just makes it a lot more difficult. If, on the spur of the moment, you decide 'hey.. I'll try some crack!'.. Not knowing a dealer, where to go, etc. make it almost impossible for your joe average to get some - he would have serious time to think about his actions. Whereas, if it was sold at your local supermarket.. what stops you?

    The local supermarket? I haven't seen any 9 millimeter glocks at my local grocers lately? This guy had two hours from the initial shootings before thinking "holy shit, I just killed two people so why don't I just aim for another 30!"
