How long have we been trying to "change?" i understand what you are saying...let me reiterate, I dont own a gun, dont have a desire to have one. But I am starting to rethink it............

Imagine standing in line at Target, and someone comes in and starts killing people. I would hope someone around me has a gun on them and is ready to use it.

I don't think a large effort has been made for change...the last time there was a real push was with the brady bill years ago...the topic of guns comes up every so often, but quickly fades away...

Oh, you have got to be kidding if you think cops & such dont use guns for a sense of power and intimidation.
Oh I saw this one on an episode of desperate housewives... all you have to do is grab a can of something off the shelf and throw it at the gunperson :) or throw a few in a row or something... this works best if you have a good aim and are within throwing distance but I guess you need a good aim to have a gun too :) so while that might knock the shooter off balance for a second it gives others a chance to jump in and overpower him... why don't people work together in these things?
