PJ started playing at 8pm, and I went to claim my spot at around 5:30pm when Liam (Arrogant) Gallagher was playing in his band Beady Eye on the stage that PJ were going to be playing on. When Beady Eye had finished playing, Arcade Fire started playing on the other stage so I stayed standing in the same spot until PJ came onstage and was there until the end at 10:45pm.
Liam Gallagher was being so rude and obnoxious to the audience, so it probably kept other people away. The people near me were obviously there for PJ, not Beady Eye!
I had 2 people in front of me to the rail, so I was very lucky . It was probably easier to get on Stone's side than Mike's side too.

Yeah I'm doing ok thanks...definitely looking forward to my little EV holiday, I feel like I need one after the past couple of days! One of my dogs (the one in my avatar) is being a little shit with my other dog...argh, of course it happens before I go on holiday! So I took her on a big walk tonight (6.5km with lots of hills) and a big walk last night and I think that has helped her calm down a bit, we'll both sleep well tonight!
Only a few more sleeps until I see Ed in Perth! Elmo, you're in for such a treat with Ed's solo shows, you'll absolutely love it! Between you and I we've just about got the Australian tour covered . I'm still trying to find a ticket for Feb 12th...I don't want to miss out on a show in Sydney. I've been listening to a compilation of songs that I downloaded from here ( http://wegotshit.blogspot.com.au/2013/06/eddie-vedder-live-compilation.html ) for practice. Hopefully the audiences will be well behaved...in 2011 one guy yelled out something hilarious and Ed's response was so funny (the guy yelled out "F**k me, I love you Eddie"). At least he yelled out something amusing, Ed is good at handling the crowd when they start that sort of thing though!
By the way, my brother was telling me yesterday that years ago one of his mates saw Eddie at our local beach with a famous surfer watching some kind of surfing comp I think. And years ago another one of his mates once saw Eddie & Kelly Slater walk into a cafe about a 10 minute drive from here. Lucky bastards! At least I know that Ed is familiar with the area...I'm not a beach person, but I joked that I'd be off to the beach then .

Thanks girls! I'll be admiring Eddie from 8 rows back on Friday and 4 rows back on Saturday, so I'm very excited .
I'd probably pass out if I saw Eddie wandering around here! I don't think I'd be able to say anything if he was just walking by, I'd probably just try and make eye contact (yes I know who you are but I won't bother you eye contact). I even brought my little ukulele in my suitcase, but if I had my uke with me I'd definitely try and ask for an autograph on it happened to be a good time for him, but obviously the chance of that ever happening is slim to none! I made sure that I took a camera with me when I was out in Perth today, just in case!
Photography isn't allowed in the venue, I wish it was! I will suss it out tomorrow though...

Just because Ed is playing in the city, doesn't automatically mean he is staying there. I think he'd be more likely staying out of town somewhere away from the crowds. The word is that when PJ were here for the Gold Coast Big Day Out, they stayed in Byron Bay, NSW which is one hour's drive away.

Last night's show was really great! It was so good to see Eddie solo again.
The security was very strict with the no photography rule, so I didn't even try, not worth the risk of being told off by Eddie's large security guard! So I can't add to this thread, but Ed sounded great and was looking very handsome too.
Loved every minute .
