    Well 90% of people hate Riot Act because it does'nt sound like the catchy rifforama that Ten and Vs were...I am saying listen more and the songs are more complex, the themes lyrically and musically are more complex...Plus the fact that when Ten and Vs were big everybody on this board was in their 'hey day', the music reminds them of their teenage years, probably the best time of their lives...

    Disliking riot act has nothing to do with being a simpleton, a dumbass, or not "evolving."     Well, on Riot Act Ed does not pant and gasp like he does on Ten and Mike McCready's solos are not zeroxed from Jimi or Stevie Ray...So the initial grab is probably not there...to really like Riot Act you do need to persist a little more...get away from the fact that the band are done with the panting and gasping ect. It has nothing to do with being smarter, but to like Riot Act you need get it's message...and it has a far bigger and more important message than most of the earlier records. If you are "in to" the messages then I think you will realise that Ten/Vs, as great as they were, are alot more simple. There's nothing wrong with that, some of the greatest music ever is simple...but I just don't get how somebody could say "all of the songs off Riot Act suck"...please, they don't ALL suck, that's just nonsense or just an opinion I guess, a very uninformed opinion....in my humble opinion ;)

    I love Gone, too, as you said - especially acoustic version.

    And Riot Act is my least favorite album.

    When I first got the Avocado album, and listened to it a few times, the one clear cut song (other than WWS which was on the radio) that stuck out to me was Gone. I'm a fan of the song, and was upset it never got anywhere as a radio single. But I am glad they played it at the first '06 Boston show.

    It took me a few listens of the self-titled cd, but after those few listens.. I really enjoy the album, even gone.

    "You Are" on the other hand..

    Every couple of months I'll think "maybe "You Are" isn't so bad.. I'll listen to it again, maybe it will grow on me.."

    ..and every couple of months I'm highly, highly disappointed.

    Yeah, love the demo. It kinda makes more sense in the context of the song to have just one person playing it solo rather than the full band.

    why do so many people hate evacuation??!! not a great song, but not that bad. anyways, hers my list of most "unappealing" pj songs... wishlist, MFC, gone definately, ... ummm almost everything off of riot act... lol but i would have to say inside job is definatelt one of there worst recorded songs ever... bad, bad, bad
