Play the South.........play the south........play the south...........or play Halifax.....or play Alaska...........We will fly to those cool places to see PJ!All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.0

Wow - some good news!! Just wish 10C would throw us a bone with a little bit of info.

However, I am 10c member of 6 years, a conservative, and voted for Bush twice, kinda disappointed in the second term, but he was the lesser of two evils in my opinion at that time(the economy was roaring at that point, and still is but that doesnt make the news). Anyway, I dont agree w/ most of PJs politics but theyre a band, the last rock band around in my opinion. I went to the Kissimme Vote For Change show, for the concert, not the politics. Unlike your brother, I can separate the two.
I also dont know if those lyrics have anything to do w/ the tour schedule, just something that struck me after reading the lyrics.
Hope you find'em!
I need to tell you that you are different from most conservatives/people who voted for Bush that I have talked with. You are to be congratulated for your ability to be objective rather than emotional about the band. Obviously I don't agree with your assessment of the economy or the candidates, but I respect your right to voice your own opinion. You're right, PJ is the only great rock band still around. Don't know if you went to any of the Green Day's "American Idiot" shows during their tour, but I gotta tell you, that's the hardest working band in rock today. They are really into their fans too - lots of interaction during both concerts I went to. Loads of good energy.~I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings called human, but I want to realize identity with all life, even with such things as crawl upon earth.~

Another bump for Florida. I'm getting more and more depressed. A friend of mine came down from Boston and had a tour shirt on and I couldn't help but notice the list of cities/dates. Nothing for the south. I think we're being written-off. I just wish I would have known earlier so I could have made plans to see them somewhere else.0

Totally off the subject of pj, but yes, Green Day put on the best concert Ive ever seen after PJ. Ofcourse, if I liked Green Day the way I do PJ I'd see it in the reverse. They have full control of the audience. It was definitely an eye opening experience. Maybe punk is safe, and American Idiot is one of the best albums of all time!0 -

That WAS a great concert. My boys (17 & 23) got tickets to the show and my husband and I got tickets too - separately. We were surprised to find we were all gong to the same concert. (and it was mutual relief that we weren't sitting together). Ended up going together (separating at the concert - they were on the floor) and then going out together after.
I love the album and the show was great but not like Pearl Jam where we will go to 6 or 7 shows per tour. (how'd you like that segue back to Pearl Jam?)
Please play the South."I don't want to hear any splatty tongues!"

Here's to the State of Mississippi
By Phil Ochs
G Em D
Here's to the state of Mississippi,
G F
For Underheath her borders, the devil draws no lines,
G F
If you drag her muddy river, nameless bodies you will find.
G F
whoa the fat trees of the forest have hid a thousand crimes,
G Em Am D
the calender is lyin' when it reads the present time.
G Em C G
Whoa here's to the land you've torn out the heart of,
G Em D G
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of!
And here's to the people of Mississippi
Who say the folks up north, they just don't understand
And they tremble in their shadows at the thunder of the Klan
The sweating of their souls can't wash the blood from off their hands
They smile and shrug their shoulders at the murder of a man
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the schools of Mississippi
Where they're teaching all the children that they don't have to care
All the rudiments of hatred are present everywhere
And every single classroom is a factory of despair
There's nobody learning such a foreign word as fair
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the cops of Mississippi
They're chewing their tobacco as they lock the prison door
Their bellies bounce inside them when they knock you to the floor
No they don't like taking prisoners in their private little war
Behind their broken badges there are murderers and more
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And, here's to the judges of Mississippi
Who wear the robe of honor as they crawl into the court
They're guarding all the bastions of their phony legal fort
Oh, justice is a stranger when the prisoners report
When the black man stands accused the trial is always short
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the government of Mississippi
In the swamp of their bureaucracy they're always bogging down
And criminals are posing as the mayors of the towns
And they hope that no one sees the sights and no one hears the sounds
And the speeches of the governor are the ravings of a clown
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the laws of Mississippi
Congressmen will gather in a circus of delay
While the Constitution is drowning in an ocean of decay
Unwed mothers should be sterilized, I've even heard them say
Yes, corruption can be classic in the Mississippi way
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of
And here's to the churches of Mississippi
Where the cross, once made of silver, now is caked with rust
And the Sunday morning sermons pander to their lust
The fallen face of Jesus is choking in the dust
Heaven only knows in which God they can trust
Oh, here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
Mississippi find yourself another country to be part of0 -
