Just for shits and giggles I'll name a few bands that I never really "got" but I still like them...

    The Grateful Dead
    Temple of the Dog
    Mother Love Bone
    Soundgarden
    Frankie Goes to Hollywood
    the Minions

You don't deserve to post in the other music thread at all.

Why? Because I don't like what other people like? I like a bunch of bands you may have never even heard of...so get off the other music forum yourself, skippy.

I think mine would be Coldplay. I just think they are boring and all the songs sound pretty similar but i guess some people would say the same about some of the music i listen to.
    Dublin 2006
    Katowice 2007
    London 2007

every band that you're going to name has been inspired directly or indirectly from the Beatles.

By naming a band I haven't heard of is not a proud point either.

Thats cool, but do you at least respect the catalog and the accomplishments?
  • i have a few posts in there, and i had a few in some other thread that started a big deal.

playing three notes for 20 minutes has overrated written all over it.

not only do i think this band is overrated, but i think they suck. all this talk of great musicians, great song structures, blah blah blah. its 3-5 notes over and over again. the same thing tom morello does, except he uses the same 3 notes in every song, but at least his stuff rocks, and doesnt bore you to tears.

:D I voting for this if ever there's a competition for post of the year... I genuinely laughed out loud :o

In our mutual hate for Sigur Ros, we can be happy... that we're not alone... :D
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

Radiohead. It's not that I dislike them, but in the UK you'd think that Thorn Yorke was Jesus H Christ himself the way people go on about him and the band.

OASIS. Totally unoriginal. All they've done is mimic The Beatles in every aspect possible.

never got the Bruce Springsteen thing either (sounds like he's on the toilet when he sings), and I'm a jersey girl. I'd like to add Bob Dylan also. Can't listen to most of his songs

You made me laugh out loud :) And I agree, Springsteen is number 2 for me.

I can't think of another album so decidedly average in spite of overwhelming praise as London Calling.

    Apart from Sgt Pepper's.

Has no one said Abba yet?
Overrated how? No one likes to admit they like them and yet they wrote perfect pop songs. Underrated if anything :)
