Looking at these setlists I won't be overpaying for a ticket that's for sure.
Really? What were you expecting? 17-19 songs with 8 albums plus a new one to promote. I expected 0-1 song from the first one every night.
Not thrilled with the song selection is all. Way you used to, wicu, smooth sailing, go with the flow are songs that don't move the needle for me.  Had a tail is on the cusp of that too.  Plus the new album hasn't hit me like most of you.  Not feeling it.

Little sister and song for the dead I always like to hear.
I like hearing Way You Used to Do & Go w/ the Flow, but agree wholeheartedly on Make it w/ Chu & Smooth Sailing. They aren’t bad songs, but  do seem to suck the energy / momentum from the show whenever they get played.

Unfortunately these songs probably aren’t going anywhere, since he’s on record as wanting to play the hits.

I really don’t know this band at all I’ve never listened to them so I’m going with no expectations and just wanna see if the live setting will change my enthusiasm about them! And 17 song set should be enough for me to get a feel for them.

It'll be worth your while. When they're on, they'll blow your fucking mind. Saw the on the 'Like Clockwork' tour and all of two songs in I thought to myself "This is the best band I've ever seen" and genuinely believe it. If you can go, you should.

Does Make It Wit Chu qualify as a hit? I would argue with the idea that people are showing up for that one. He does seem to like it though.

I agree that it throws an e-brake on the momentum of a show. I'm on board with everything else and really like Smooth Sailing.

They made a video for it, and released it as a single... I guess flip a coin, it's a hit and / or Josh likes playing it .

I do like the breakdown in Smooth Sailing, and don't *hate* hearing it live, it's just a trough transition when so many of their other songs just fucking truck.

1st world problems here... I'll be happy to hear anything from the catalog Friday night.

We went to the tour opener and I absolutely loved it. The Lanegan tribute was fabulous and stood out a bit. I wish they would have played more from the new album, it was over way too soon. They sounded amazing, and the entire (beautifully small) venue was on their feet. We danced our asses off and barely had voice afterwards. They seemed to have the best time.

I’m a new fan but most of the footage I’ve seen from this tour looks as if Josh is having the time of his life and really savoring every moment. I wonder if that has to do with what he’s went through since the last album.

I think so....I don't remember ever thinking he was too wasted to perform when I've seen them but I guess he had issues.

He was trashed when they played Boston in '17. It definitely took away from the night & the performance.

There was a questionable performance I saw in '07 too (Boston again), but IDK if he was messed up or if they just had a bad night... but those were the 2 shows of their I saw that stick out as bad performances & I have little doubt the '17 show was due to being wasted.

Unfortunately they're the only 2 QOTSA shows my brother has ever seen, so he's pretty turned off of them live.

He was very tuned up when I saw him in Portchester which I was surprised at.

Yeah I was commenting last night on his and the band’s energy on stage being way up. A lot of interaction between them during songs and running around on stage. And I was particularly surprised to see how Josh sang Straight Jacket Fitting without a guitar, and walking into the crowd and high-fiving people as he sang.

From the early performances I saw that song SLAYS live. That’s one from the new album I really hope they bring out. Did he have the audience sing to the string part ?

He even fell backwards into the pit and let the people prop him up as he sang a few lines. It was very different and very cool.
