That's cool. Would love to follow him too, but timing off for me (and apparently my good tkt karma hasn't kicked in yet)
sad that $100 seems to be going rate...didn't realize rage was so $$ until after i made the purchase for 2 tix. (overcome by the novelty of tbastard actually taking my $$ for a change)
makes me appreciate pj and 10c all the more...
scalping at the show will depend on the demand. biggest concern is getting ripped off with a counterfeit
excuse me for sounding like a dick here, but there are what, 10 bands or so on the bill for that show, the ticket is 83 bucks (ticketmaster fees are a different story), you're not just paying for rage alone, i hope you realize this before you get your ticket scanned at the gate, "rage being $$", thanks I've had my laugh for the day
After trying to get tix for the Dallas show on ticketmaster and getting shut out I really thought that I wouldn't get to see this show...but I just happened to check ebay the other day and found a pair of tix for $50! Thats right, 2 tix, $50 bucks Can't wait to see this show!!!!

enjoy the show!
didn't think my post was cause for any ranting. is rage worth it? YES
Is it whole day event with other amazing artists? yes
Am i psyched to go and that they're back together? YES
Will i be stuck in traffic longer then the artists play? dbl YES
but that aside, $100 a tkt is alot IMO (not just rage, i paid same for bjork too) I want artists to make $$ and live good lives, but I also think its important to price fairly so audience is not lmtd to people with the bucks to spend
citing chris as an example, someone I place higher then rage, his tkt price $35
and yes i know scalpers are having a field day...but at least he's trying to keep prices reasonable and affordable

it's all good... shit, tickets are expensive these days, no getting over that, with gas prices rising it's not cheap to move all that gear around the country... as for chris cornell, i appreciate him keeping his tickets low, although my tickets for toronto were $45, not sure if that was american or canadian, haven't checked my bank statement yet, but in the grand scheme of things would pay just about whatever was charged to see any one of my favorite bands live...you could just think of it this way, take that 35 for the cornell show and multiply it by three, rock the bells has rage, wu tang, and the roots atop the bill... not that bad for 30 bucks a band, not to mention the others on the bill... yeah, looking at the $100 bucks after fees seems like a lot, but compare that to what your getting in return and i think it's a great deal
sorry, I get a little defensive on here when people suggest that bands are in in for the money alone, especially bands that have spent their careers doing nothing but good and treating their fans well, taking money from the fans with high ticket prices... people here bitched and moaned about the ticket prices for the 2006 pj tour, wondering why they weren't as cheap as the 2003 tour... is anything as cheap as it was in 2003?
and I'll be at the randall's show one way or another, that $100 ticket kept me from buying right away, i had just spent money on cornell, modest mouse, and lolla tix so I figured that I would wait a few days to get them... but it turns out they sold out in seven minutes, so as of right now I have no tickets, but I'll be there
and I really meant it, enjoy the show! it's gunna be sick!
I'm just happy that the email annoucing the Astoria show called it Chris' FIRST headlining show of 2007. That means there will be more to come and hopefully when I'm in the country this time.

If tonight's show was a harbinger of this tour.....it's gonna be good.
The band....tight.
Cornell....loose, free, in great voice.
"Spoonman", people. "Spoonman".
"Billie Jean"....with a band behind it....stunning.
That man has no business being able to still hit those notes. But I'm glad he can.
Excellent way to spend a Wednesday night!
Give us a more detailed review!
What else did he play? When will they put the videos on yahoo for us to watch??
“Life is life everywhere. Life is in ourselves and not outside us. There will be men beside me, and the important thing is to be a man among men and to remain a man always, whatever the misfortunes, not to despair and not to fall - that is the aim of life, that is its purpose.”
Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Okay .
#1: the atmosphere was casual, pleasant, fun; it was on one of the studio lots (FOX, MGM...I've already forgotten); a typical production scene, cueing us for applause and such. Great place to catch a show if you're so fortunate.
#2: the man's got a full band...a tight ass band behind him. I'm so glad that this will NOT be a coffee-house acoustic, me-and-my-guitar tour. This is rock and roll.
#3: the voice was dead on but, bless his heart, has he learned how to fully use it? Yes, he has. He can croon as well as fly the octaves.
#4: he took Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and ripped it a new one. Soul and blues, baby. Soulful and bluesy.
A friend who came with me to the show and had never heard of Cornell:
(a) didn't even recognize the song the way Cornell sings it...only realized it was MJ's Billie Jean after it was over (that's a good song...take the song and make it your own)
(b) thought it was right on
#5: he's so damned charming and funny and quick-witted and coherent for a man born of grunge rock.
#6: he exudes the aura of a content man.
SETLIST:

~Cornell said very plainly said that he's not interested in a SG reunion.
~Yogi (lead guitarist) showed us that he can do the moonwalk.

Oh WOW! Thank for that dharma69. This sounds absolutely UNREAL!!!! BURDEN IN MY HAND!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Down on The Upside love always makes me extra extra happy.
I got a text from my beautiful and blessed friend today too. He was also lucky enough to be in attendance. He said Cornell was hitting insane notes! He also said he played 3 new songs and even talked about our EDDIE!! Said his spirits were great...very chatty, smiley and joking a whole bunch.
I'm SO BEYOND EXCITED for my Philly show!

Hey, its all good on my side too. And I agree that PJ prices are fair. Cool that y're going to Lolla. Should be awesome show. I went year Metallica/Soundgarden played. Billed as Chicago, but actually an hour away. Craziest crowd i've ever seen.. Good luck getting Rage tix.
I just wanted to post and say hi - I've lurked on this forum sometimes but never posted before I don't think.
Anyway, if anyone who went to the Nissan/Yahoo! taping to see CC's new band wants to contribute a review to my page, or later on of any of the other shows on tour, please feel free!!! You can always contact me via my site or pm me here. One of the things I want my site to do is collect an archive of the tour from the fans' viewpoint, in the same way that my friend Deb Baker's (UKDeb)
site used to do for the Euphoria Morning tour.
PS I'll be at the London Astoria show, and at any Scottish shows he takes it into his head to do!! Maybe I'll meet some of you there *waves at redrock and claire*

I take it you came here for a break from those Audioslave nutters on audioslaved.com?! Bloody hell they take themselves very seriously!
Yeah, some of them can get a bit wearing, lol. I loved CC's work with Audioslave, and defended it, but I can see why it might have been great for him for a limited time only, if you see what I mean. On the last album they weren't always getting their chops round his songwriting. I think the band originally played a big part in getting him back his self-esteem, though.
