You don't. Please see my previous post:
I consider myself a very sociable person (and many people that I've met from this board would agree), but there are times at many of these events that I've tried to initiate conversation to no avail. Sometimes just a one-word response and then a back-turned. It's not always easy to meet new people, I agree. There's safety in numbers.

I totally feel for you... I'm a girl - 34 (but young looking), cute, single ... a huge PJ fan with an awesome 10C#. I'm employed, make decent money, LOVE beer... and... ???? I didn't make it to the Hartford pre-party but from going to those types of things in the past it doesn't really seem like anyone is seriously trying to meet other people. It doesn't have to be a pick up thing or anything but you would think that single guys would spot single looking girls and actually seem *interested* in starting a conversation. You absolutely do not. And I have definitely met people by starting a conversation myself. ... actually, that's pretty much the only way I've met PJ people.

A couple years ago I went to a PJ cover band - SD PJ fan convergence in San Diego right after I moved here. I knew nobody in SD then and was specifically interested in making PJ friends (or whatever). I spend a bunch of time looking around trying to make eye contact with people/ find someone friendly. nobody!! I talked to one person outside for 5 minutes who was some biker guy and wasn't even a PJ fan. Finally, I spotted someone who looked like a fan and maybe friendly. One fucking person in the whole place!! We made eye contact at least 5 times and he still didn't talk to me!! Finally, I went over and talked to him. ... we ended up dating for 6 months but that's another story and not really a great one...

The point is... as a PJ girl who I would think would be appealing to a PJ guy... it's damn hard to meet PJ guys at these fan events. ... and it shouldn't be!!

You have to talk to people...they are not just going to approach you I guess. But I didn't seem to have a problem.
You could have talked to me! :)

shit! you were there?!?!?! bummer we missed meeting up!!

I still stand by the "no cute single women who are pj fans" statement.

At least I never come across any.

OK Y'all. I was at Sweet Jane's Friday night for about an hour. I walked in alone, wandered around, went to the bar, tried to order a beer - since the only "light' they had was Coors (ew!) I went with a Guiness. (Sidebar, btw - NE bar that doesn't have ANY Sam Adams...WTF?!)

...then continued standing ALONE until my beer was gone.

SO I ask you all - WHY did I stand alone for an hour?! .
OK I read the entire thread, and all I can take from it is this:

It took you an hour to drink one beer?

Yup, I was at Sweet Jane's! I forget what time I got there....maybe 5pm? Stayed until about 7. Saw a few people but since I've never caught a photo of you on here, I didn't recognize you! I sat with Tony from No Code and his girl but wandered around a bit too.

And yes, that show was f**kin SICK!

I still have no voice from this tour. :D

not from any of those countries. And I guess if you'd rather drink something that tastes like horse piss over something as pure as vodka, then you could go for a beer.

    but yes, tequila is aweosme.
