I'm bumping this thread to remind myself that DBT is on Conan tonight.
They'll be playing Aftermath USA.

"We paced ourselves and we didn't rush through it and we tried to be as creative as our collective minds would let us be over some course of time instead of just trying to rush through a record"
It was great to see them get some exposure last night.

Was it only my shitty local station or did the network clip off the start of the song? I suspect it was my local station squeezing in some extra commercials because their election night coverage probably cost them some ad spots earlier in the evening.
Great performance...............Stroker Ace was really cookin' at the end of the song. Damn, EZB looks like he belongs in ZZ Top or the cast of "The Ten Commandments."
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
The Man has a branch office in each of our brains, his corporate emblem is a white albatross, each local rep has a cover known as the Ego, and their mission in this world is Bad Shit.

Neil Young has a video of Jason doing this song on his website as well.
Really? That's flippin' awesome. That is high praise...thanks for pointing that out.

Sure thing.
I think it's the same as the one you posted, but...
Good Neil's getting the word out.
Looks like the Black Crowes tour ain't goin so well.
They were seriously giving away free tickets to the show in Atlanta.
And have already cancelled a number of dates.
I'm gonna hold off on buying tickets to Philly for the Crowes (+ DBT, Robert Randolph...) if I can maybe get em free.

Or go home to see them in Saratoga the next day
Nowhere near a full house in Birmingham, Alabama..........in fact, Ticketbastard was offering "Buy three, get one free.." in the weeks prior to the show. They offered the same deal for Nine Inch Nails about a month earlier. Our outdoor venue is located in an overgrown section of town that makes it a bitch to get to on a weekday, which may explain some lackluster ticket sales for events there.
Can't wait for Thanksgiving..........DBT's annual show in Birmingham!!!!!

If nothing else...they're getting their name out there.
It was a smaller venue in Nashville, but it was packed when I saw DBT back in February.
Can't wait until they get back on their own and play some more 3 hour shows.

Cool grits!!! The new Rolling Stone came in the mail today....the one with "Captain Jack Sparrow" on the cover.......short review of the new album........3 1/2 stars.....not too shabby.

Most of the reviews I've read have been fairly consistant. I think Maxim was the only one that wasn't great...they had a smart-ass type of review...which I guess is to be expected.
Other than that, all the reviews seem to be positive.

Haven't read it yet, saving it for my lunchtime reading at work.
Good stuff...I just read it off of Nine Bullets.

NakedClown - Checked the DBT site, looks like there is an L.A. appearence on the 27th of August. Looks like a short set though, part of a festival. The DBT play between Dave Alvin and Hank III, and the Cramps, which should be a good mix of bands.

Yep.
I was just gonna post this myself.
God damn....this is going to be incredible.
I heard the 9:30 is "real intimate" but I'm going down early, sittin on the sidewalk and getting front row.
They never play the north all that much (wouldn't really even call DC north myself...) so taking any chances I can get.
Hopefully NPR gets some good sound on this - preserve my good DBT memories.
I think I'm seeing the Crowes tour in Saratoga a few weeks later too.
Will do the usual, way too long review sometime Sunday, I'd imagine.
I'm looking forward to this show. Listening to the Nashville boot right now...Cooley forgets the words to Cottonseed.

once it hits your lips....
Day before my birthday... you better believe I'll go to that.
In fact - I'm telling the wife now that that is what I want for my birthday...
Actually... looks like that might be free, yes?
