I had a few listens last night and thought it was fantastic. Anyone else on here a fan or dig these guys? This was my first introduction to them.

  • Have you heard the new album already or are you talking about DBT on the whole.

  • I'm talking about "A Blessing and a Curse". I was given this CD last night and listened though a few times and was hooked in. I had heard the name before but never really paid them much attention. I particularly liked Goodbye and Gravitys Gone. Just looking to see what others thought of them.

  • New album isn't out in stores until April, so we're all still waiting to hear it.

Check out their other albums if you can. Decoration Day and Dirty South are probably the best, but there are classic tracks on all of them.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

The good news is that "Feb. 14" and "Like a Rolling Stone" are now available on iTunes. The bad news is that you have to purchase them together for $2.49. I consider it bad news because I took advantage of the free dl of "Feb.14" back on Christmas day, so I had to pay for a song that I already had......
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
  • Yeah, I've had Feb 14. for a while too, so I see no need to spend the extra money for that one song.

I wonder if this is iTunes deal or what.

  • WHAT?
    Someone's got the new one?
They might play some new ones live before the record comes out.

I figured what the hell and spent the dough......their version of "Like A Rolling Stone" is quite interesting to say the least.

I don't know whether it's an iTunes deal or what?????

  • I have the CD from the Uncut magazine that Like a Rolling Stone was originally released on, if anyone wants it I will happy to send them an MP3.

It is arguably the best rock and roll song in history being covered by arguably one of the best bands in the world today, how can you possibly go wrong? :)

I really liked the new stuff I heard yesterday...Gravity's Gone grabbed me right away.

  • Amazon.com now has 30 second clips of each song up.... Daylight is the one that really caught my ear... sounds like a heavy Petty influence throughout the record?

Can't wait to hear it in its entirety...
  • Goodbye was a slow build for me...I really like it now

Daylight also sounds great after a few listens.

I think Space City is my favorite thus far on the new record, that one just kicks my ass. Aftermath USA is a lot of fun too. The only tracks I can't really get into are Daylight and World of Hurt, but perhaps with time.

World of Hurt is a classic Patterson tune...reminds me of The Three Great Alabama Icons

I really like this album a lot.

DBT is one of my top 3 favs. PJ being #1 of course. Then Ben Harper and DBT. I have seen them live twice. Fucking great! They got a DVD in stores if you don't already have it. Between these 3 groups, and Bob Dylan, I'm going to be a broke motherfucker after the summer, I have 5 PJ concerts planned , 2 Ben Harper, 2 DBT, and 2 Bob Dylan. Yeah!

    The Nashville show was great.

DBT is one of my favorites.

I think Daylight is great... Goodbye is growing on me... Easy on Yourself is a good track....

I don't know why I'm holding out on pre-ordering and downloading the new album, but I am.... I figure I can wait another couple of weeks... but I love the stuff I've heard so far (except maybe for Feb. 14 - not a bad song, it really just didn't have much staying power for me)...

hoping to see them here in May...

BTW... if you pre-order through Tower Records, you get a bonus disc with ABAAC... the Like A Rolling Stone cover, a live track, and two previously unreleased songs...

Really? I thought it was extremely catchy from the first time I heard it until today...I may have worn it out a little though.

The lack of Cooley songs is disappointing.

Cooley can be described best in this quote, pulled off a tribute someone made at blessingandacurse.com:

"It's like Johnny Cash, Keith Richards and Levon Helm all beat off onto the corpse of John Oates...and then lightning struck the corpse and from its electrical discharge a new rock titan was created, and the gods called him Cooley."

If you pre-order from the record company at the DBT website, day of release guaranteed delivery will set you back an extra thirteen dollars!!!!!

Really? I'm still debating if I want to pre-order in order to enter in that contest.

I already have the album, but I support their music, so I want to pay my dues.
