Isbell's new song Daylight is his best work in my humble opinion
It's good, but there are many that are better.

Gonna try to go to the first one... not sure yet... will post here with details...
Well, I just found out that the two primary songwriters from the Jayhawks (Gary Louris & Marc Olson) will be doing a show here on the 3rd, so I guess I won't be heading up to L.A. I'm a little worried as it'll be an acoustic show though, and my ears will be ringing from DBT the night before.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

did preorder it...can't wait to get the real deal...have been listening to the streamed copy I got from Amazon for a month or so now...
Great fuckin record.

Kind of bummed out...they will be in my area the same weekend we're going to Cincy to see Pearl Jam.
Maybe I can swing the Indy show.

Or you could come down to B'ham.........
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
Yeah, I'd actually like to do that, but with the Cincy show that weekend before...that's too much traveling for us.
I'd like to get down to Hunstville and see my cousin...he's a Trucker fan too.

Like my man Gomer Pyle used to say, "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise," I enjoyed my first two listens to this fine new release by DBT. I found it to be very solid for start to finish. Some of tracks of note to me include "Gravity's Gone," "Goodbye" and "Space City."
I am glad that I did my shopping at an independent record store, because I am enjoying the bonus disc that came with the purchase of "A Blessing and A Curse." It's a four song disc that includes "When the Well Runs Dry" (a Jason Isbell song), "Like a Rolling Stone," "Careless ("Live from the 40 Watt") and "Marry Me" (also from "Live from the 40 Watt").

Well, I've got it. Went to Tower, cuz I figured I'd get the bonus, 4-song cd there....and no. So I am without. But was able to pick ABAAC up for a measely 9.99...so it's well worth it.
Right now, I am simply blown away by Little Bonnie. This could arguably be Patterson's best storytelling song to date.
Cooley is great on Gravity's Gone and Space City... and I'm a Jason fan, so obviously I still like Easy on Yourself and Daylight... although I could see myself skipping over Daylight in the future.
I think album will draw in some new fans and open them up to the true grit of DS and DD... but this is more than just a gateway album. Little Bonnie, Gravity's Gone, Easy on Yourself and Aftermath USA are classic DBT songs...
I love this band...
Bill
P.S. ABAAC passed the "windows down on a sunny freeway" test... it rocked well...
Having said that, the absolute lack of excitement (or activity, for that matter) on the DBT boards is surprising....
I mean...we have known about this for what, 5 months now...
the whole thing was out on Amazon if you went that route for a few months...
It wasn't really a huge surprise for a lot of people I think, esp. the real die-hards.

I'm sure they'll be lots of guesting on others sets too, should be a great tour, and a lot of fun for the bands, plus some great exposure for the DBT.
