    Oh that would be amazing!

Patterson and Bettye LaVette will both be here in Chicago on 12/7 - I'm going to both gigs and hope Patterson sits in with Bettye (or vice versa)!

    From the DBT site:

THE INTERNATIONAL HOME FRONT TOUR kicks off with an American Sneak Peak on January 10th when we will be playing the album live in its entirety (for maybe the only time, certainly a rare event at best) as a benefit for our most cherished cause, NUCI'S SPACE Musician's Resource Center in Athens GA.

    and

We'll be kicking it off stateside in early February.
We've made this beautiful album and now we're going to see how hard we can Rock that SOB.
Dates should all be announced (at least for the first 3 legs) very soon so stay tuned and keep checking back.

Hope to see you all on the road! I kind of want to do a DBT mini-tour...

Oh bummer... but they are going to tour all year, so I am sure you will get your shot.

True....I don't suspect that they will lay a goose egg when it comes to dates in the South.....unlike some certain band.

Oh man that would be sweet. I just mapquested how far it is from here, and it's a 16 hour drive. Argh, I wish it were more like 8.

Oh well, it looks like they'll be playing a lot of shows in 08' so I'll be patient.

It's just outside of Atlanta.......you could probably find a cheap flight into Hotlanta.

I wish, but flights out of Canada are never really too cheap, plus now I need a passport which I don't have.

I'm sure they'll be back in Toronto in 08', but nothing would beat a 3 night stand. For those going enjoy...
  • Just got tickets for Saturday night. Doing two or three nights is a bit much at the moment, I will save that for the Florida shows.

This will be the girlfriend's first DBT show, should be some good times.

  • Holy fuck:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00106AIZK/

Sitting here at 1 am drinking a beer and thinking that this might already be the best album of 2008.

Cooley is on fire - PAtterson sounds brilliant, and I even have hope now for Shonna's songs...

I am sufficiently impressed with a band I didn't think I could be any more impressed with...

I get the feeling this is going to be one of those huge varied albums that takes years to really feel your way through... 19 tracks, varied styles, back to having 3 different voices... The word "Sprawling" comes to mind... Basically completely different from the last record (which certainly had its moments).

And I haven't even heard it yet ;)

Thanks for posting, Clown! I can't wait to hear this thing in its entirety.

I think Shonna sounds a bit like Reba. Hm.

  • Shonna does sound a bit like Reba...

Cooley has proven to the doubters that BOB should be on the record - sounds simple and amusing and great...

Three Dimes Down and The Man I Shot are going to be ridiculously good...

With 19 songs like this, it's almost too epic - sensory overload - but something that will be nice to chew on and explore throughout the year...

"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

  • Triple bill tonight:

    Patterson solo set
    Bettye LaVette
    Kelly Hogan & Nora O'Connor (billed as "plus a special sit-in from a Drive-By Trucker") :D

I'm crazy excited!!! I'm hoping Patterson shows up at Bettye's gig, too...but that may be getting a bit greedy :D
