If past indications are correct, you'll be listening to it in Costa Rica by then.

Yeah... I wouldn't be surprised if the record is circulating by Christmas.
Good times!

Still on the hunt for Whisper...as soon as I get it, you'll know.

"We paced ourselves and we didn't rush through it and we tried to be as creative as our collective minds would let us be over some course of time instead of just trying to rush through a record"
3 Shonna songs on the record.... and 7 (!) Cooley songs.

I wonder if they'll let that girl sing on a record.

From the sounds of it they have. Someone on the ninebullets board overheard a soundcheck and heard her doing one... So I think they may be back to 3 songwriters.

She's got a very distinguished voice.

Yeah, I have always liked her backing vocals and the verse she takes in the "Like a rolling stone" cover is quite good. This could definitely be a really cool thing.

Cool stuff.....great news for the new record.
The thing about Shonna's singing is you can tell that she is from around here. In other words, her accent is pretty close to mine.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.

That puts their cover over the top........Stroker really gets into that song.
I noticed this morning that the boot from Friday night's show is up at archives.

saw jason in buffalo last night. excellent show. i draw a bit of a blank on the middle of the setlist for reasons i won't get into, but he opened with try, grown and goddamn lonely love. encored with a far too rockin version of outfit then made up for it with a killer decoration day. the guitarist sang on psycho killer. danko/manuel, razor town and and the assassin stood out but the highlight was probably, surprisingly, never gonna change. he spent some time greeting fans at the door and was around before and after the show. i got a chance to insist he come back and had him sign a poster. A-. might've been a solid A were it not for my mini crisis. definitely go if ya get a chance.
18 Wheels of Love (w/Patterson's mother in the house)
Checkout Time in Vegas
•Great version of 18 Wheels...listening to it now.
•Checkout Time in Vegas is going to be great on the album...can't wait to hear the finished product.

We have heard "Checkout Time...." twice...they played it at the "Rock Show" on the Birmingham-Southern campus. Good stuff.
Buttholeville (w/State Trooper by the "Boss") also rocked at that show.

That's one thing about Jason...he seems very accessible.
He's doing it the old fashion way...touring like crazy and connecting with fans on a personal level.

Even when he was with the Truckers he was like that. The last time I saw them with him in the band, he was walking around the club before the show, talking to fans, drinking at the bar, just hanging out. It was good to see.

He came out to watch The Drams in Memphis and American Minor in Nashville.
My friends went down and thanked him for coming to Memphis. I didn't want to bother him before the show and didn't want to say something idiotic, so I stayed in the balcony drinking my Bud Light.
Also, from his many Myspace postings...he doesn't seem like a rockstar. Just a guy who plays music.

So, was anyone else at the Dirt Underneath show in Madison over the weekend? I saw a guy in a PJ shirt, but didn't say hi.
This was my first DBT experience, and it completely blew me away. I can't imagine what the Rock Show is going to do! I'm seeing them again tonight - can't wait.

They're an addicting band to say the least.......Rock shows are louder versions of what you saw in the Dirt Underneath show.......the Dirt show that I saw just blew me away....and it was only week after a Rock show.

Would the kind gentleman from Windsor, who sent me some Jason bootlegs, kindly send me a PM if possible.

"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.
A friend went to the Baltimore show and said Shonna sang one of her songs there, too; I didn't get the name of it, though.
What do you guys think of Ryan Bingham, who's been opening on this tour?
Ryan started opening after the dates that I saw.....no opener for the TDU show...Warm in the Wake opened the rock show that I attended.....I thought that they were a band w/ a lot potential.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
They played "I'm Your Puppet" (which was apparently written by Spooner - who knew?) at the Baltimore and Chicago shows too; in Chicago, it was sung as a duet between Patterson and surprise guest Kelly Hogan (who sings on Southern Rock Opera).
I'm so hooked. I'm thinking about doing a short string of dates on the spring tour - hope they announce them soon!
I thought Ryan Bingham was just all right; he was pretty good for an opening act.

I showed an old friend that live DVD, that they released in 2005, and he became an instant fan. The next day he asked to see it again, before he hit the road back home...made me lol
That live dvd is one of the greatest there is

Okay, I have a serious question. How does the DBT make up for Jason when playing live? I was watching the DVD form the 40 watt club and I didn't realize Jason played so much lead guitar. Does the new dude play anything like Jason, and is he the one playing all of the solos Jason played?
Also, what songs can we expect NOT to hear live now that Jason's has left? Of cousre songs like Outfit, Decoration Day etc. (the ones where Jason sings) won't be played, but what about the songs where he doesn't sing and had a large impact on the guitar sound?

Neff seemed to play a lot of lead...don't pay enough attention to who plays what solos, but you may have answered your own question....no Jason songs at the two shows that I have seen since he left....so, don't count on seeing any songs that he wrote or sang lead on (they are the same thing) being in the set-list....other than that I suspect everything is fair game
