what an incredible night.

after i get a few hours shut eye, ill come back and really get into it.

glory days was dedicated to the ny yankees, and bruce said a few of their names in the song.

How was NYC Serenade?

The entire night was magical.
From the opening chords of " Thundercrack" ,...
to Elvis Costello joining in on " Higher & Higher " at the nights end.

The Wild The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle was awesome ,
the first time evr this album side has been played in its entirety.

Bruce and the band didnt disaapoint, either.
There were many musicians guesting tonight, and even at the the beginning, Bruce took a conductors wand and mockingly led all of them in a display of their musicianship, frantically all whaling out at once, off key and out of tune .
Then Bruce did the " stop" sign , and they all followed .
He really is "The Boss " !

They then broke into" E Street Shuffle " which is always a fabulous treat live .

I must say most of the Saturday night crowd was there " just to be there " .

Even during Thundercrack, people were talking, texting, PMing, doing everything else but listen , and rock out .
The albumside proved this to be true also. People were actually getting up for bathroom breaks during songs such as Incident and NYC Seerenade ! ? ! wtf ? There are diehards out there who go their whole life without hearing or have these songs on their concert " bucketlists" , and these trolls were doing anything and everything but enjoy the history happening before their eyes and ears .

Bruces underrated guitar work stood out all night,.. but especially on " Kittys Back" and "Incident " .
Face melters galore !
Also, the stage was even more crowded than usual--- the entended string section,the horn section, they even had the original musician playing Congos ( from the album - Richard Blackwell ) .
The Professor stood out also all night with his piano work ,& especially on the beginning to " NYC Serenade " .


Tickets were very very hard to come by streetside.
I randomly asked some of the scalpers out there,
seems section 400s were going for upwards of 200 bucks each .
I was in sec 349 and we paid 40 bucks over face ( 140 ) .

my WTF moment came when Bruce playing Wrecking Ball at The Garden.
This slot would have been much better served with a clssic such as Badlands or another special treat such as secret garden .

Yup, Saturday was a great night! I was one of the 'trolls' who dared to take a piss during Serenade..lol...everyone enjoys concerts in different ways..my wife didn't leave her seat once, but I had to take at least 3 piss/drink breaks..good times...also, we did stubhub for $17 over face..second row aisle, side stage in the 400s...picked up the tickets via their office, then headed to Heartland Brewery--our usual pre-game/dinner place when attending shows at MSG..anyway, we had a great time dancing in our little section..can't wait till next time! Sunday looked good as well..

11/10, BACK IN CLEVELAND'S ARMS
Coming just two days after what by all accounts were two shows for the ages at Madison Square Garden, this Tuesday night show had the potential to be a letdown. Or as a friend said to me beforehand, "this might be a hangover show." True enough, the first four songs were played with a curtness that didn't bode well for the evening. Bruce was gravelly-voiced on the opener, "Wrecking Ball," while Garry Tallent took a rare turn with the maracas and Nils served as conductor. "Prove It all Night" felt rushed, although Nils was a whirling dervish on his spectacular solo. Even the crowd surf back to the stage during "Hungry Heart felt hurried." "Working on a Dream" followed, which was cut short by several measures as he delivered the "building a house" spiel.

In introducing the Born to Run set, Springsteen noted that the band is "very, very, very, near the end" of a long run of shows. He thanked people for supporting "both the new music and the old music" over the last couple tours, adding that they are finishing the tour by playing full albums as a special way to thank the fans. About Born to Run he said, "This record started the life-long conversation we've had, so, this is for you." Then, with the opening harmonica strains of "Thunder Road," the show took off, not letting up until the last note had been played two-and-a-half hours later.

Bruce prowled the stage during "Tenth Avenue Freeze-out," imploring the band to “Bring it up! Bring it up! Bring it up!" He sang "Backstreets" with such feeling it was as if Terry's betrayal happened yesterday. The song included a lengthy interlude of lyrical wisps: "Me and you darling, me and you darling, until the end, until the end, like an angel on my chest...” and on and on. "She's the One" ended with him waist-deep in a big group of grabbing women on the rail. The coveted pairing of "Meeting Across the River" into "Jungleland" was spoiled a little by a brief pause in the action as Soozie was late getting back to her spot with her violin; "Jungleland" more than made up for it though, and Curt Ramm's trumpet on "Meeting" was phenomenal. Roy, Garry, Steve, Clarence, Max, and Bruce all took a front-and-center bow at the end as the remainder of the band applauded them, with Bruce noting, "These are the guys that made that record; and Phantom Dan Federici!"

Kicking off the requests, he said, "I think I saw this sign somewhere!" and launched into "Red Headed Woman," which sent several redheads in the pit into paroxysms of glee while stumping much of the crowd. "Pink Cadillac" was next, a fun romp with Bruce pressing the sexual, Viagra-taking metaphorical accelerator, singing, "Some folks say it's too fucking old....”

"Back in Your Arms" was the indisputable emotional centerpiece of the show. With the band laying down a languid, soulful backdrop, he asked: "Do we have any lovers in the house? Is there anyone here who's blown a good thing?" Not getting much of a response he said, "I don't think everyone is telling the truth!" He went on, "Are there any women out there who feel unappreciated by their men? Men, do your women somehow misunderstand the finer points of your character? Everyone's been at that place where you let something go and you want it back. And if you need it, you hunger for it, it's a part of your soul, don’t be ashamed to fight and beg for it." And away he sang, "In my dreams our love was lost...." By the end he was on his knees, begging, "Baby, just give me one... more... chance to show you the love I feel in my heart for you. Just take me back. Just take me back." The crowd went nuts as Bruce went to get a drink of water; returning to the microphone he kidded, "Goodnight everybody!"

"No Surrender" was dedicated to the Cleveland Food Bank followed by "Bobby Jean," which he sent out to the "Cleveland Boys" and to Joey, one of the Boys who died recently. Three or four of the Boys were in the pit hugging and weeping throughout the show. Bruce mentioned how nice it was to see so many familiar faces that have been coming to the Cleveland shows over the years.

A surprise "Can't Help Falling in Love" was inserted between "Dancing in the Dark" and an over-the-top "Higher and Higher," which ended with Bruce, Curtis, Cindy, and Soozie on the small platform at the back of the pit. Bruce had declared, "You've just seen, for the last time in a while, the heart stoppin', earth shockin', history makin'... legendary E Street Band," and at show's end Bruce clearly didn't want to go. Clarence chidingly took the Fender from him as they stood for the ovation. The band filed off stage as the two of them stood side by side, alone on stage for a long goodbye, leaving us to wonder if they'll be gone for good.

there is alot of chatter that this could be the last e street show for sometime.

even bruce drops little hints ( such as last night he said something to the effect that " (( In introducing the Born to Run set)), Springsteen noted that the band is "very, very, very, near the end" of a long run of shows. )

I think he'll likely announce the album side as showtime gets nearer.

Also, i would go out on a limb and say its going to be either " Born To Run " , or Born In The USA " .
Of course he is The Boss, so if he feels like doing either of those , or something completely different, ( or another complete albumside not yet performed -- all together ) it wouldnt be a complete shock.

yup, i'm in the building...barely...

booooce can do whatever he wants...but to say i wud be disappointed with BITUSA, when it could be BTR, would ummm be a slight SLIGHT understatement

ending the last show with BITUSA seems subpar to me. sure it was a big cd, but compared to BTR???

i'd be A OK with the river, thats a fur sure! maybe even Darkeness...

as far as it being the last show "in sometime" i know clarence isn't in the best of health, not sure of the others, but, IMO, clarence IS the estreet. without him it just ain't what it was.

i gotta hand it to boooce. i saw this tour at the beginning of it and i wasn't that impressed, mostly cause i think the new cd is less than stellar, but as of late he has done an amazing job on the setlists. he's keepin it real.

the addition of Curt Ram on trumpet has really enriched the horn sounds of E Street.
They keep adding musicians and backup singers, thats one crowded stage !

i am seriously contemplating a trip up to buff,
but i dont know if logitistics could all work out,
we'll see.

i guess closing out the tour with b2r would be ideal,
but as we all know the boss does whatever he feels like on any given night .

either way youre guaranteed 3 and half hours of a true rock and roll show
