Very different sound. Some Pearl Jam folks have a hard time getting used to Corin's voice.

I like what I hear though.

    I totally agree w/you!!

Everyone basis it on Corin's voice, either take it or leave it! I could understand why some people don't like them, but come on, give respect for these women who can write an awesome song!! Have you read their lyrics people?

    ~JUMPERS~
I spend the afternoon in cars
I sit in traffic jams for hours
    Don't push me
    I am not OK

The sky is blue most every day
The lemons grow like tumors they
Are tiny suns infused with sour

    Lonely as a cloud
    In the Golden State
"The coldest winter that I ever saw
Was the summer that I spent..."

The only substance is the fog
And it hides all that has gone wrong
    Can't see a thing
    Inside the maze

There is a bridge adored and famed
    The Golden spine of engineering
    Who's back is heavy
    With my weight

    Be still this old heart
    Be still this old skin
    Drink your last drink
    Sin your last sin
    Sing your last song
    About the beginning
    Sing your song loud
    So the people can hear
    Let's Go
    Be still this sad day
    Be still this sad year
    Hope your last hope
    Fear you last fear
    Your not the only one
    Let's Go

My falling shape will draw a line
Between the blue of sea and sky
    I'm not a bird
    I'm not a plane

I took the taxi to the gate
I will not go to school again
    Four seconds was
    The longest wait

I love jumpers. It is possibly my favorite song to come out in 2005 so far. It infects me. Sitting in atlanta traffic sometimes makes you want to find a bridge that might be why :) (just kidding obviously it's not that bad)

I put the woods in on my way to work and jumpers finishes right as i arrive to work without fail.

It took me a few listens to get into them too. I started with I wanna be your Joey Ramone. Good fun song to start with.

From what I gather in this thread, they are playing that one a lot these days. I look forward to hearing it.

it is kind of like napster and limewire. I got mine for free though, I don't know how it is now. There is a good search engine you can use, if you can't find it when you search, you can always put them on your wishlist, so whenever the name comes up, you will get a list of the songs that are available for download.

I would have NO idea if it is compatiable w/ipods, since i don't have an ipod player. :/

BUMP for these girls in rock that aren't afraid to take any chances when it comes to their music!! :D

They are on the front cover of DIW (Devil In the Woods) indie magazine :)

I don't know if I posted about this song on this thread, but it is a great song and everyone should listen to it :)

This song is one powerful song, and to me, i think it is the hard part of breaking up, and going through that awkward transition.

    ~Good Things~
got this feeling when i heard your name the other day
couldn't say it, couldn't make it go away
it's a hard place, can't be friends, we can't be enemies
it's just too much, feel the weight crushing down on my face

the hardest part is things already said
getting better, worse, i can not tell
why do good things never wanna stay?
some things you lose, some things you give away

broken pieces, try to make it good again
is it worth it, will it make me sick today
it's a dumb song, but i'll write it anyway
it's an old mistake, but we always make it, why do we

the hardest part is things already said
getting better, worse, i can not tell
why do good things never wanna stay?
some things you lose, some things you give away

    this time, it'll be alright
    this time, it'll be okay
    this time, it'll be alright
    this time, it'll be okay

the hardest part is things already said
getting better, worse, i can not tell
why do good things never wanna stay?
some things you lose, some things you give away

Great band! They take chances with their music and it is awesome. Had no idea who they were before I saw them open up for Pearl Jam in 2003. Put on a great show in Charlotte and got me interested. Now I am becoming a big SK fan.

For all of you S-K fans out there...their new video for "Jumpers" is on myspace.com  I really dig it!! They left Carrie's vocal parts on that song...WOHOOOHO!

Just out of curiousity, my copy of Modern Girl starts out fine, but then gets very distorted. Is it suppose to be that way?

Mine's like that too. I've been listening to The Woods a little more in preparation for the upcoming shows and I liked it to begin with, but I'm liking it even more with each listen.
