i just framed both of those today! i had to get huge mats and cut the down to size with an exacto knife! the also didnt have the colors i wanted but those colors are good enough for now!

There's so many colors, it was tough to match mats that would go well with the whole poster. So colors match the top but not the bottom, and vice versa. I went with a basic black wood frame, black mat on top of a thin blue mat. Both mats have a white core. At first I wasn't thrilled with the result but it has grown on me. Now I like it a lot.
i'm diggin this maverick, i've been holding off on my hartford because i wasn't sure what to do...but i think this looks great. thanks for sharing!
a bunch of frames came in today. first time seeing the finished product and thought i'd share. this is one of my favorite threads, love seeing what people put together. have few other non-PJ items too (McCarthy Tree, Emek Wave, and a few pieces by an artist called Domenech). Not sure if you all want to see those, are we keeping PJ only? but if you do, i can post.
anyways, here are four PJs:
both 98s done the same way. same simple black frame and mat, variation on the inner mat. wanted some continuity between these two, plan on hanging them together somewhere.

you sure the price isn't the other way around. the u2/pj poster is like twice the size of the EV east coast so framing should be more even if the u2/pj poster doesn't have matting.
LOL, yes I'm sure. The frame itself was more expensive per inch for the eV poster than the frame for the U2/PJ poster, hence the price difference....
however, if your some what creative and have access to machines do what i did and make your own storage box. its painted, 1/16 aluminum, 26x 31 if i remember correctly. wasnt thinking about bigger prints when i made it but i might make another one someday soon for all my storage need. just slide it under my bed. my next one will probably include a hinged top but i need to find the time for it...

I just bought supplies from american frame to DIY (or myself). I have a vic poster from the mystery sale... Double matted 1/2" with 'gravel' and 2" of 'peanut butter' with a standard plus frame. Got a bunch of mounting strips and hanging wire too. Ill post when I complete it.

Cool! Just dropped off my Lolla 07 and my EV BAtman to be framed today! The Lolla is getting a black mat/green frame and the Batman is getting a black mat/ orange frame. Should look pretty funky!

Very nice, 2 day's ago I looked over 60 pages on this thread just to find all Honolulu frames because I had to do mine and this one is in top 3 for me.
It's very different then the others, good job.
I had to go with classic brown colors because my frame guy doesn't have all strong nice colors for mat, but it would be nice too.
Next week coming back with pics

i think you made the right choice by keeping that St Johns off any wall in your house. but it was your first show, so i understand the need for it to be framed.
