OMG Nina, me neither, i never understand it. I've been going to shows since '95 and I never meet hardcore fans although they must be sitting around me since i have 10c seats. Maybe it's cause i'm too shy.

Well, I haven't been going to their shows for that long by any means (I've only been a PJ fan for a few years), but I've been to many, many concerts. Concerts are my thing--like, some people spend money on clothes, I spend money on going to as many shows as I can of bands I like. I've seen lots of classic rock shows, too. I've found Rush's audience to be the best all the times I've seen them.. maybe not as knowledgeable about their music as PJ's audience, but more easygoing, less obnoxious.

But like.. when I went to see night II in Toronto this past week, the guy sitting a seat away from me was MARRIED and was hitting on me, totally drunk. The other guy beside me barely talked (maybe he was shy? I don't know..), and on my way to the bathroom, some girl was really rude. She was like, "Uhh, are you waiting in line?" in a snobby, kind of bitchy, ditzy way. Just because I wanted to let the people in front of me pass on their way out, doing a nice deed. How about some manners? Ugh.

And I also remember the first time I saw PJ, their fans seemed so intimidating and elitist to me. They knew who the newbies were, it seemed, and I felt kind of nervous that I wouldn't say anything stupid that seemed ignorant. At a CONCERT. That's why I never really posted here for a long time, though I knew about the forum. I didn't want to be struck down for things I didn't know.

Anyway, so, sorry for how long my reply turned out to be, but I have never met a single NICE PJ fan in real life. An easygoing person I could hang out with. Never. While I've met such people going to most of the other shows I've been to. I don't know what it is!

Really? So what do you suggest I do/use? Should I just deal with the fading?

    Please listen to this person.

I had Michael's do about 10 posters for me before switching to Deck The Walls earlier this year. I explained to them that I had a lot of posters to do (and I also had about 6 family pictures to do at the time) and they were nice enough to give me a very aggressive discount - a better discount than the mom and pops around me. The deal is that I have to take in 2 posters at a time every 2 months and I keep the discount.

After I got 4 of them back from DTW, it made the ones from Michaels look really bad. Luckily, DTW was nice enough to fix one of the Michaels screw-up jobs for free and they are very willing to work with me to get my other posters straightened out.

Of course, a chain store is only going to be as good as the people working at your location, but my experience has been great.

I will post some pictures in the next couple days so you can see the difference.

I'd love to see the pictures! I'm curious.

I don't know what Deck the Walls is (maybe we don't have it in Canada?) but I'll definitely go to a smaller place next time. Definitely. It also seems to me like they would have more time to go over your options than people at a place like Michael's would.. help you out with the colours and stuff. I really felt like I was bothering the people at Michael's since I took up their time with my indecisiveness. At smaller places, I probably would feel better about it, because they always seem to be sitting around when I come in anyway =P.

I just hope that the one thing I'll get framed from Michael's won't turn out that bad, and that if it does, they'll at least redo it or something.

Thanks for putting some reason into me, guys! ;)

Nah, I didn't bother. Didn't really need another poster, and the odds are not so good. I'd probably have been unlucky, anyway. :oþ

I would definitely choose the UV glass. I just would try and keep it out of direct sunlight even with that. There's not much else you can do, that's the best protection. Just don't expect to put it in full sun and have it not fade (over time). Obviously, it will take longer to fade if it has the UV glass on it. I don't know the time-frame, but probably years. By then, no one will know what the "real" colours were anyway! :)

Not sure the pictures capture how this really looks, but the frame is basically a bronze and gold mixture. i was pretty pleased with how it turned out...

    take picture with digital camera.

upload said picture onto your PC ... or, have a friend take it and send it to you.

create an account at photobucket or flickr ... upload your pic to this site where you have created an account.

copy the link of your pic to this thread.

easy peasy ... lemon squeezy ....

That looks awesome! I kind of wish I had found this thread before I framed my U2/PJ Hawaii poster, 'cause I probably would have paid the extra $$ for matting instead of just a frame....

I have my blue&green east coast EV poster at the framer's right now - it is going to have a inside matte that is blue and then an outside matte that is black with a black frame... price quoted at $225 (local framer around the corner from me) - I can't wait to pick it up next week!

just got my first posters framed! wooohoo

went for basic black frame, but they did a nice solid job thankfully. maybe should've got that non-reflective stuff in hindsight, but oh well!

now to decide where to put them.....
