The only "small" problem I have now is that I don't have any more walls to put all this frames (45) I have to rearrange the walls, something has to go down now :(

Ha, that's funny. I was just telling someone at work that I'm going to rearrange all the art in my house so that I can place my Honolulu in the most prominent place.
I never got an answer on this...
Question- Eddie Vedder Silhoutte East coast poster is 18.5" by 24" right?
and since im going to order a frame with mat boards I should order it as 18.25" by 23.75" as it suggests on American Frame?

Where did you get the 18.5"? On this site it says 18 x 24.
phew...that was a close one. i assumed, obvioudsly wrong. good thing i found out before i ordered the frame

Why don't you measure your poster? There's quite often slight discrepancies in size (at least with some posters). Best to measure the actual thing.
gotcha

I was expecting to pay a huge amount. I enquired about the glass that stops the print fading. The guy said can i be straight with you? I could sell you this special non fading glass for 6 times the price of the standard, however it will make NO difference. He proceeded to show me two journals containing research into the subject by professionals, the results were that although the special glass may reduce the fading very very slightly, it will not prevent it, the print will naturally fade, - there is nothing that can prevent this, even the relective non glare glasses and the likes. I was very surprised, Anyway I went with the normal glass.
This guy runs a framing shop, and has been there for over 25 years, but his main concern is the welfare of great dane dogs. So the shop acts as a charity for the rescue of them. He did a great job of my print, double matted, beautiful black frame, and finished very nice, for $80. the Framer down the road less than two miles away wanted over $300 (equivalent in the UK), so that just shows you the difference. To add also he does the non reflective glass too for the same price. What a great place. so i got my raleigh 98 and Maui 98 done also and my asia 95.
The moral being is that he could have kept quiet and sold me the dear glass for no extra benefit...and have been quids in.
sorry to go on....Its just i know how much people pay for these things framed.

It also VERY important to get an Acid Free mat and backing board, much, much more so than the glass.
how important is the linen tape? I think its optional. I ordered it, but they are out of stock for awhile. Should I wait it out or try to get it somewhere local? Or will I be fine without?

Ideally, you'd get one half framed with UV filter and one half framed with regular glass. Over time, I'm sure you'd see the difference. Even so, no print should be hung in full sun, not even UV filter glass can stop fading in those circumstances.
I get mine framed with UV filter, to me it's worth it.
hope yall can see flikr...if not i guess i can do the photobucket thingy...
thanks.
nobody dug my framed hawaii poster huh? guess everyone was busy ripping on that poor guy that didnt realize he could just measure his own poster before getting it framed? or is it cause i posted them in FLIKR? can anyone see them? i get thoughts from friends, but just wondering what some fellow poster freaks thought?

:( .....
I like the frame job a lot, matches the hawaiian theme of the poster. How much did that run you?

at the time, i was living in kihei on maui, in maui everything is more expensive, including frame jobs. i think it was $240 for the frame job...luckily the poster was bought at the show so it was only $30...or was it $25. the guy in front of me bought the last three in the booth and turned around and sold me one of his three...if youre out there dude, thanks, you made my night, that and hearing HAWAII '78.
people were walking away from the merch booths with 5+ posters in there hands...they went in a matter of minutes, so much for the one per person limit.
now on to framing my recently nabbed Dusseldorf A/P...im guessing if i dig back into this thread i could find some ideas. but im lazy...
anyone care to save me some time and throw up links to their framed dusseldorf prints? i imagine it looks epic framed...i cant wait for mine!

nice frame job on the hawaii. i like it, not sure i would've chosen that, but it adds a very unique element to the particular design. really brings out the "hawaiian" flavor with the frame.
as for the dusseldorfs, theres a few good ones in here. just use the "search this thread" function and type in dusseldorf. they should pop up.

its cool. Not what I would have picked personally, but thats the beauty of it
Finally got my pictures up on the net, heres a few links to them: -
by the way my apologies for some of the glare in the pics, they were really hard to photograph at night with the lights on, much harder than i thought, but you'll get the idea. The Frames are basically a flat square black frame, and smooth, so they have added a little glare too but look nothing like it on the wall!!

This one looks so ugly and cheap in pictures, but it's the only one I want so much. My first show, I don't remember seeing posters there but it was the last show(s) of the tour so maybe there were none? Anyway, what's it like in person? Don't suppose you're keen to part with it since it's framed and all...
