So I did a self framing of the Ed Solo poster and I love it. Much better than on a jpeg and in person, it's much better than batman to me.

reshot my pj poster wall so my pics now include the most recent tour shows i've attended, sans the ed solo batman as it's still at the framers and yea, no room in any case :o...it'll go elsewhere in the room. so here's the up-to-date collection:

Thanks for the compliments all. The red is the frame....it's a double frame with a 2 1/4" black matte. Seriously, I spent a good half hour with my framer trying to come up with something for this poster. It's not easy to match the colors in the poster....they are very off base.....and a red matte would have been overboard.

If I thought this one was hard......I was wrong....the EV Batman poster was TOUGH.....my framer and I were so frustrated....we must have spent about 40 minutes with it....finally decided on a black frame with black matting....we decided to let that poster speak for itself.

did you consider using a brownish matte? I've noticed a few other MSGs have used a brown matte to kinda match the tree. Yours does look great tho - now if I can only get my hands on this poster!

There is actually very little brown in it....just a couple of the cartoon characters have brown...and not much...the tree is gray and black. Check out ebay lots of MSGII's on there right now.

Sorry to keep buggin' ya on this one... ;-)

what kind of frame is that? I know you said double - is it metal/wood? I want to get this one framed w/ my ticket stub as a memento of seeing PJ in the GARDEN for the first time.

In general what do people think of framing the ticket with the poster?

went to a framers to get my 3 done and picked plain black frame. they said they wouldnt mount it, is that a problem?

i know nothing about framing these things- could the poster end up damaged at all?

It's a metal frame, that's really all I know about it, have no clue who makes it.

It depends....I think it's a good thing...did they mention if they were going to do a dry mount? I think maybe they meant they won't glue it to the matting / frame which is a good thing.

I'll almost guarantee if they said they wouldn't mount them that it means no glue....give em a call and ask them what they meant...no harm no foul.

you need a mounting board for sure, acid free. That's what you use to sandwich your poster to the glass. The mounting board and glass are bread, the poster is meat, and I guess mats are lettuce and tomato.

I don't like plexi, I always order it from them without, then get a frame shop to cut me a piece of real glass. If you go plexi, I would spring for the UV. not much more to make sure it's protected wherever you want to place it.
