As for the DC 06 , I absolutely love this frame job!! I think the Black velvet matt with the white inside border goes well with the white around the cross and in the flag suit and stars....And the Black frame with the silver lining brings it all together. I am really happy with both, but ty for your input as well..

I love the DC. Really looks nice that way. I thought there was a small matte near the frame instead of the frame being two toned. Looks like I have to decide again what looks the best for mine."...would you like some forks?" EV 12-02-060 -

Well just looking at that....there is already a lot of green in it. Me? I would probably do a black frame with red and white double matting. ETA...match the red that's in the picture....needs to be very close to that red for it to work.0 -

Yeah it took me forever to pick out both frames. However in the end, I loved the black with gold trim and the black with silver trim the most. Everyone has different tastes though. One of my next framers is going to be difficult to choose a matte and a frame for .........My FIRST ever show !!

Brown matting....orange frame....if you can match them close to the browns and orange in the poster.
ETA...is the majority of the poster yellow or orange? They look really different in each picture on expressobeans.0 -
Most of the poster is yellow...im thinking brown or yellow frame, black matte to set off the yellow and maybe throw in a ticket stub...*Marker in the Sand Fanclub * HNIC

Brown frame and black matte would definitely work well. I would avoid the yellow....it'll be overkill....but that's just MHO.0 -
My friend moved into a new apartment yesterday and went to the thrift store for some decorations. He found an Ames 03 MSG poster in a cheap frame, he got it for $10. Not a bad find.NERDS!0

Here's my first attempts at framing. I got the frames, mat boards, and backing boards from American Frame, and put it together at the Washington Framer's Workroom (http://www.framersworkroomdc.com). It's great, you pay for the glass and a $5 table fee and you can use all of their materials and equipment...

a) this thread rules
b) some of you people seem to very artistic... i love the colors of some of the mats some of you have used, in addition to the framing.
c) i have 3 posters and can't wait to get them framed
Finally, do most of you guys frame these things yourselves or take it to "pro" framing stores. What does it typically cost to frame these amazing poster.

Any suggestions on frame and matte color(s) for Boston 2 '08 for an artistically challenged PJ'er?
Thanks

Personally, I like black frames - though some people have posted cool photos of green frames (I think for Lollapalooza). But I was thinking a primary blue matte, with a very small (maybe 1/4") line of orange showing. So yes, double-matte. But there are others with a much better eye than me. I just framed my first poster ever (Camden from this year - w/ a single grey matte, that matches the color of the grey in the skull and elsewhere).Camden - 5/28/06; Camden - 6/20/08; MSG - 6/25/08; Newark - (Ed Solo) 8/7/08; Philly - (Ed Solo) 6/12/09; Philly - 10/30/09; Philly - 10/31/09; Newark - 5/18/10; MSG - 5/20/10; MSG - 5/21/100

So I did a self framing of the Ed Solo poster and I love it. Much better than on a jpeg and in person, it's much better than batman to me.

Hey everyone,
Great posters............I'm looking to get a couple of mine framed. What's a reasonable price range for custom framing? I've never had anything professionally framed and just don't want to get hosed. Thanks.0 -
