Thanks! I fooled around FOREVER on the American Frame site, trying different mats. I had inteneded to do at least two, but in the end I liked the simple approach best.

I did the same thing, and went with the same design you did. A poster like that really only needs one mat.

Sweet framing for the Gorge i like it with the tickets. Did you do it yourself?

The colors are very good...I just don't like ticket stubs framed with posters.

I hate to be so negative but I have yet to see a framed Gorge that I like.

I hope that you aren't including yours in this comment. :)

I like it, nice job on the Gorge. How can someone not like the pink Borgata?

That is the nicest Gorge frame job I have seen so far. No offense to the others, but I really like the matte is relieved at the bottom or the script with the countour, and the black as the top matte is diff from what others have done, the majority anyway.

I decided to take my pink Borgata to a local frame store(didn't trust myself to do a good enough job with AF) and got double acid free mattes(2 inch black, 1/4 inch pink), UV glass, black metal frame, and ArtCare Foamcore backing for $197 after tax. Expensive, but I figure I'm ahead of those who pay over $200 on ebay and then another $100 for the frame ;). Hopefully I'll be able to get a picture up next week when its done.

For the next poster(one that will be more easily replaceable if I completely screw up...) I'll probably tryout AmericanFrame.

how long does it take to flatten posters...........had mine on some cardboard and LOTS of heavy books on it for 3days.........a little better, but not much

Do you really need to flatten it so it stays flat on its own before you frame it? Won't it just stay flat once you put it in the frame?

Go for it ... it's almost impossible to fuck it up in any way that can't be easily fixed. You're not going to damage the poster unless you're outrageously careless and bend it or something.

I spent $570 yesterday on getting my Gorge, Borgota, London, Ottawa and QCity Posters framed. I'll have them in 2 weeks, and they're gonna look awesome. I'll get some pictures posted when they're here.

I had planned on only trying to spend $300, but the quality and deal I got, I had to take it.

Damn - that's a lot of cash! Hope they look a whole lot better than my 96's and my Chicago 98. Mine are from americanframe.com done by myself and the most expensive was Amsterdam at $83. :)

Ordered materials for SLC 1995...Atlantic City 05 and an EMEK Audioslave poster this weekend..will post pics soon!!
  • Just spent $113 at Michaels to get my Denver 03 framed. Will be ready in 4 weeks. :( At least I got the 50% off. :)
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

Thanks! - I still don't understand why people are going to Michaels and such and happy to get them framed at 50% off and still pay like $150 each. Mine were mostly $65-75 total including the frame, 2-3 mattes, uv plexiglass and acid free backing. I think that's the way to go for the cheaper posters. Now I might want to check into my Istanbul and Rome for a professional job. Still not sure yet.

<---- Is in grad school and works full time. I don't have time to frame them myself. If I pay a bit more, it's worth the professional job and the time saved for me. I'll try American frame next time after I'm done with school in May and see how it goes.

Thank you. That's just the beginning, I will be getting a couple 24x36" Daler Rowney presentation cases for the rest of my posters that won't fit in the one posted. I'm also going to be getting a couple framed a week, so I will keep updating my photobucket account. :)

LOL- yea it's getting there. The 96 is the London, I still need the Ft. Lauderdale ( yea - that's what I need, another poster!). And it is not above the fish tank, so please don't worry, it is in a safe place. Many were worried about it's safety. I love the surfing series, I still need those also. Dammit, this is too addictive, I want them all!!
I might have a pre-show party before they play Soldiers Field this summer. I will keep you all posted.
