Joe, whats the story behind that Neil Young/PJ Indian poster. That was my very first PJ concert and I never got one at the show and the damn thing is over 500.00. Awesome collection BTW.

That's back in the days when gig posters were actually used to promote the gig, rather than help the band make money at the merch table. MCA Concerts Northwest commissioned Frank Kozik to silksceen a batch for promotion of The Gorge and Portland shows. I actually saw one hanging in a tiny gas station window in George, Washington, after the show. It was a hot, dirty night in the desert. I had stopped to fill up the tank on the way home and there it was, behind the dusty glass, under the stations fluorescent lights. I begged the station owner for it. "I'm keep that one," he told me. I didn't grab one until 13 years later, when a guy who worked for MCA Concerts who stashed a few posters aside, sold me one for $700. Worth every penny.

For the record, I don't think that would deter me! ;)

Why go to jail for B&E when you could have had this shit instead!

I got this poster home after the show and looked it over real well. I shit my pants because it's a portrayal of Shamu at Sea World San Diego, and I'm all against Sea World and how they house their animals. I couldn't believe Ed would have let that fly. But then I read the artist's description of how he wanted to show Shamu all sad and docile in his tank, but the cloud above Shamu is actually Shamu jumping and swimming free. Made me feel so much better and I'm glad I found that article.

Just got back from my local frame shop... Dropped off both Seattle EV posters, and I can't wait until they are finished. But holy hell, that Munk One was hard to matte!

what color mat did you use for Seattle I? I am thinking of using a single yellow-gold ish mat with a black frame.

I used a light, almost-butter toned yellow for the inner matte, and a saturated red for the outer matte that matches the color of the lettering. The frame was kind of difficult, because black looked a little weird on it. Finally chose a distressed, light blue wood frame, it matches the paler tones of blue in the salmon and the sky. I'll post pics once I pick it up!

Thanks, shelving is from IKEA. It's two butted together. Pretty cheap too, I think less than $25 for both (48" each piece)
