  • Alright, I have 6 posters as of right now and want to actually display them but don't have money to frame them, and I really just don't want to that much. Is there any other way of displaying them that is cheaper and wont harm the posters too much? I was thinking of using pins but not actually punching holes through the poster. Like just pushing the edge of the pin onto the poster to hold it in place. Is this a good idea? Are there any tapes that wont harm the paper that I can use?

If anybody has any other alternate poster displaying techniques please tell me.

Edit: You can respond here, are you could always PM me. :)

    DO NOT USE PINS..........

I cant explain why cos I dont know why it happens but after a while the poster seems to stretch on the wall and that stretches where the pins are in and u finish up with bigger holes in the corners sometimes they even break thru and tear the poster...

I would just buy the cheapest frame and get some matt and cut and seal the back with tape then hang it..

BUT DO NOT USE PINS OR TAPE...

I wouldn't actually put the pins through the poster itself. I would the outside of the pins as a holder that would hold the poster in place by applying pressure to the edges. Hopefully that wont damage the poster?

if you want to hang without using a frame, your best bet would be http://www.designsbydarren.com/stock_photos/photos/13/med_office_supplies_11.jpg

Thanks! I'll look for more things like this.

    Edit: I found these. http://affordableframes.com/posterhangers.htm

    Do they work well?

I would, if it was me, use what you found there.

However there might even be better. I actually have one [not sure where you can get them, I found this in cooperstown when i was like 14] but they are these huge semi-hard plastic sleeves that you would slide the entire poster into.

I will see if I can find a pic.

    I say just frame em

    EDIT: something like this

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Heavy-Duty-Plastic-Poster-Sleeve-Protector-Display-3040_W0QQitemZ350119722516QQihZ022QQcategoryZ29952QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
scroll the page, there are a few example and better pics then others..

yeah looks like same idea, equal pressure from both sides should leave it unmarked when you remove it. what you link would probably be a little more appealing then the clips.

    Here's our latest framed poster - Philly 06: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/rVFgLvseyF_M0fqNNEbSHA

It's a classic frame (dark blue matte and a yellow frame) for this poster but the missus and I like it very much! :)

Thanks! Looks even better in real life bcs the dark blue matte is not as dark and the frame is not as yellow as they are on the photo. ;)
