framed poster thread

i just went to michaels and got 2 22x28 frames for about 50! and i got two big matte boards for 14. posters look great i will post pictures later

i just framed both of those today! i had to get huge mats and cut the down to size with an exacto knife! the also didnt have the colors i wanted but those colors are good enough for now!

p.s. don't cut your own mats-stressful

Wow, the gold trim on that frame looks amazing with that poster!

you sure the price isn't the other way around. the u2/pj poster is like twice the size of the EV east coast so framing should be more even if the u2/pj poster doesn't have matting.

I am working on getting all my posters framed. I started with some Smashing Pumpkins, now I'm working on Pearl Jam, next up will be the rest of my 2008 shows, some Wilco, more PJ, more Pumpkins, Radiohead, etc. I started with some oversized stuff and moved on. I still have over 100 posters in my file to be framed!

There's so many colors, it was tough to match mats that would go well with the whole poster. So colors match the top but not the bottom, and vice versa. I went with a basic black wood frame, black mat on top of a thin blue mat. Both mats have a white core. At first I wasn't thrilled with the result but it has grown on me. Now I like it a lot.

i'm diggin this maverick, i've been holding off on my hartford because i wasn't sure what to do...but i think this looks great. thanks for sharing!

LOL, yes I'm sure. The frame itself was more expensive per inch for the eV poster than the frame for the U2/PJ poster, hence the price difference....

There's no stopping now. You are hooked! Beautiful job with the gold trim. What you gonna do with the Batman & Chicago poster? Or should I say "How can you frame something you do not have?" lol
