good lord, Dave A. The guy is STILL, to this very day, complaining online about how Ed and the band treated him. And he says openly he hates the band's music now. No chance he'd be invited back at this point.
IDK what I want to see less... gun to my head, probably # 3.
    1. Matt Cameron playing w/ the Foo Fighters
    2. Dave A back w/ Pearl Jam
    3. Soundgarden touring without Cornell

    Correct.

The path forward is unclear (and all options are on the table), but one thing's for sure:

Dave Abbruzzese's time with the band has passed.

    🙃
Let me just say: I love David. He’s a terrific guy. However, he has not gotten over what happened back then. Grudges don’t make for good artistic collaborations.

    Message from the band:

From being one of our first musical heroes in the bands Skinyard and the mighty Soundgarden, to playing on our first demos in 1990, Matt Cameron has been a singular and true powerhouse of a musician and drummer.

He has propelled the last 27 years of Pearl Jam live shows and studio recordings. It was a deeply important chapter for our group and we wish him well always. He will be deeply missed and is forever our friend in art and music.

    We love you Matt.

Klinghoffer never crossed my mind either... he's a very talented musician, but he's not a dedicated drummer that I'm aware of.

He's the man. Being THE drummer for Soundgarden and Pearl Jam is an all-time resume. He killed it at every show I've attended.

Klinghoffer is the obvious choice. Toured with the band for the last few years. I think he filled in Oakland. He knows all the songs.
What, he isn't a professoinal drummer. He is the most unobvious choice. He doesn't all the songs, he only knows the first few albums.
I don’t think he is a licensed professional drummer, you are right.

He has been verbal about being a super fan. I’m guessing he knows all the songs.

    This fucking sucks.

Grateful that I'll always have the memory of being sidestage at MSG night 1 2024 and making eye contact with Matt. Eddie was doing the intro to Better Man and Matt looks over to me.  I hold my hand up at point to him.  He responds by doing the same and we give each other a head nod and a smile.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I came here to say exactly this. Now that I think about it even more....maybe this was expected to a degree, and Josh was always the replacement?

I think Josh was probably there to step in for anyone if needed but he's not a drummer.
