he announced two shows near me.  have heard some good stuff about him.
Me too. I don't know much of any of his music for whatever reason, but I get the sense he is still worth going to see.
Definitely an experience, he's an amazing guitarist and the full band is something to see.  Just wish he'd play more of the SW.
And I can't wait until I live in the SW!

Billy Strings is incredible, probably my top choice these days after PJ.
Appeared to be an animal, yet so polite.

He was supposed to take 2026 off. I guess not.
Unfortunately all these shows are in the south.

Even the In the know crowd of rumors has come to a grinding halt! I think people took it for granted that a new drummer was already in place and everything would be back business as usual! Not with this band this isn’t the FF
Even with a new drummer already in place it's all a slow-moving process:

    1. A new drummer has to learn as many songs as possible as well as building on-stage chemistry with the rest of the band. They might also have other projects and commitments as many musicians in this caliber do.

    2. Planning a tour for this kind of musical act is multi-pronged and involves many stakeholders.

In other words, it will be a minute before we hear anything.
    Exactly better look towards 27!
Why tour with new drummer to play DM songs that Matt was such a big part of?
My opinion they will need new music to showcase new drummer
It will be interesting what direction they go with the drummer.   Will the drummer be an official member of the band?  A touring drummer? Gotta be weird to add someone new to the band that has been around for 35 years.
    Touring drummer.

Listening to one of the Showbox shows from 2002 & Ed casually joked how maybe they shouldn't tour but play only in Seattle and everyone will come to them.

Actually, from a 2025 perspective, it's not a terrible idea if it provides longevity for the band.

Paul McCartney would like to have a word! They are still young enough to do full tours not sure why folks believe otherwise

I'm with you on this. Their contemporaries (E.g DMB) tour often.
But PJ have scaled back on touring and might continue to do so. This Seattle thing might be an alluring solution for them at some point.

Yes it would heck most folks would love to work in their home town! But it also would prevent folks who can’t afford to travel to miss shows, I’d definitely get out there for a couple of shows though dying to get to the popular fish market

Unless you live in the NE or in a different major city that the band actually likes, it's pretty much travel if you want to see them anyway.
  • Well my auto renewal just went through.  Not that there’s any significance to that but sure would be nice if there was a lottery to enter.

They toured this year? Those used to be called warm up practice runs to test out new material…

Call it what you will but I’d be pretty happy to read about 11 shows in 2026 right about now.
