you’d have to be up front to know how they feed off us and us them. That dynamic is frankly not something that can even be described and I don’t care if you believe me or understand.
You all sound insane with your made up stories and conspiracy theories. Insane.
This sounds like a group of whiny entitled conspiracy theorists. Pages of fables made up about people and circumstances most of you know nothing about. Yet again. Stories you “heard”, assumptions you’re making and talking for “the band, amongst others.
You have zero clue what you’re talking about.
There’s no list. No sneaking in. No holding spots. No dumping drinks on people. No assigned spots on the rail. And no entitlement.
It is literally line up and get your spot. Do your time. If you can’t do your time or it’s not your thing why shit on others? Why do you even care enough to debate here?
I have been lining up for the rail for 11 years whenever I can make it work. I have made some of my best friends doing that and I love every minute of the experience. People have come and gone and over the past few years a new group has joined us and they are awesome. If you’re not an asshole you’ll have the same experience. No one is going to shun you or bully you or make you feel unwelcome. We all work together to make our nights and days on the sidewalk safe and fun. No one takes advantage, and if you do, you’re called out. As you should be.
The band hates it? Ha. I’m not even going to address that because you’d have to be up front to know how they feed off us and us them. That dynamic is frankly not something that can even be described and I don’t care if you believe me or understand.
Keep crapping on us. Don’t care. You all sound insane with your made up stories and conspiracy theories. Insane. Line up and join us and you’ll see!
Do you really believe the band only feeds off the energy of your group?

I got front row once in the old system. Winked and smooched at Stone but it wasn't reciprocated. These cats must be dreamier.
Stone loves playing hard to get. He's such a tease.

I have no issues with people hustling/f5ing/finding trades to get into GA as many times as they want. That’s totally fine. I would just like to see a random number draw to mix up the very front. I see a lot of people sharing how much better the rail or being right up front is so why not spread the wealth out for everyone if it’s that great?
I said in a previous post what a lottery can turn into. Every show I go to there is someone in the GA line who has never done it before. During tours there’s posts on fb to the effect of: “won GA, it’s been a dream to be on the rail what do I have to do”. Literally in this thread 15 posts up Amantria said they want to do it someday.
If they implement a lottery, you most likely will never know what this feels like. You won tickets to your home town show, spouse is ready to watch the kids, it’s over a weekend, you want the rail that one time in your life? Sorry. There’s a lottery, hope you win and your number is lower than 40. And let’s be serious here, for the rail you don’t need to camp overnight. As I said previously there is usually less than 10 people who go to EVERY show. Get there before them or even after and you’re still going to have an insane spot and everyone here will think you’re part of the rail mafia cause no one but them is allowed to be that close.
I like that the rail is full of people who want it bad enough to figure this out. People have kids, jobs, and responsibilities like everyone else. I have a medical condition that requires me to take medication every day. Having any of these things shouldn’t preclude you from being able to be somewhere else for 12-48 hours depending on where on the rail you’re aiming for. It seems like what is happening is a vocal minority want to be on the rail but don’t want to inconvenience themselves to do it, so you want to blow the whole thing up and make it random just so the people who can aren’t able to anymore.

Insane. I guess some of them really feel like they’re an integral part of the show. Weird.

If it’s really only 10 people then why are we continuing a process that benefits just those 10 people to the detriment of the other 1,000 people in GA?

I couldn’t give two flying fucks about the line or camping out or who gets rail. The last time I camped out was to buy tickets to Metallica’s Black Album show in 1992.
In early March.
In Winnipeg.
That being said, I totally understand the draw. The closest I’ve ever been at big rock show was row 6 at a Tragically Hip show. I can’t even describe it. It just feels different being that close.

Some of this reads as borderline delusional. They aren’t “feeding off” the regulars anymore than the new folks. And honestly some of the regulars I saw during the Texas run seemed the least energetic (for good reason given the time commitment, but still).
And when did I distinguish “regulars” from “new”? You’re the one interpreting what I wrote to suit your delusional narrative.
Seems you spend your shows criticizing the level of energy of the people on the rail. Sounds so fun to be you.

If it’s really only 10 people then why are we continuing a process that benefits just those 10 people to the detriment of the other 1,000 people in GA?
Benefits? The other 1000 can’t figure out where the line is?

Again, it's not a conspiracy theory when the band has had to step in and address it. Definitely catching a vibe here though.
I don’t know what “vibe” you’re catching, man, but there has been no list since 2014 with the exception of Vegas last year when one person tried this BS.

Of course they can. I’m just saying there should be a random number draw and then everyone can show up to that line an hour before doors open.

Nobody is crapping on people putting in their time. People are not happy with shady business that others are doing. If that's not your then chill out.
I’m not the person you responded to but I care enough about this to comment here because these posts aren’t ever about a specific incident or person, it’s “the people up front”. As one of those people I wanted to share my perspective because if I had never done it before I would be getting the impression there is a large group who only lets their friends get on the rail and bullies anyone who lines up legitimately and this is a lie. I know this because I just decided to do it one day and had a great time and made a lot of friends. If all of these stories were true at face value I wouldn’t have any of these experiences or pictures to talk about.
Remember the time they made a list for Vegas since it was too hot and security was kicking them offsite like the rules said they would?
They had to make sure no one else schemed a way to get in front of them so they made a list to make sure they were still at the front. People had to check in at set times and if they did not check in with the line boss they were scratched off the list. People that followed the rules came day of and found out about the list after lining up when they were supposed to. All of these railriders just walked past those people and got back in line. Totally normal behaviour lol.
What if they’re driving 10 hours after getting off work from a state where Pearl Jam never plays on the day of a show. Is their full day of work followed by a ten hour car ride less dedicated than sitting in a camping chair while taking bathroom and food breaks?

Are you telling me you have no clue of people sneaking into Fenway N2 and getting up front for the show dead center? I mean they were right behind you and you were chatting with them.....
If it’s really only 10 people then why are we continuing a process that benefits just those 10 people to the detriment of the other 1,000 people in GA?

Benefits? The other 1000 can’t figure out where the line is?
Of course they can. I’m just saying there should be a random number draw and then everyone can show up to that line an hour before doors open.
Why? So “everyone can get their chance”? This isn’t kindergarten.
No… so everyone gets an equal chance.

out was to buy tickets to Metallica’s Black Album show in 1992.
That being said, I totally understand the draw. The closest I’ve ever been at big rock show was row 6 at a Tragically Hip show. I can’t even describe it. It just feels different being that close.

Guy who parachutes in, posting erratically and aggressively: "Been there. Doesn't happen. Total fabrication."
