GA folks can do their thing. You can get close without the nonsense of lining up. What sucks is that TM is eliminating the best reserved seats for 10C members and pushing us further back to sell premium seats. The days of a full 10C sections in the 100s next to the stage seem to be over. Member since 98.

Take away the ability to "put in" for only GA.

Take away the ability to transfer/sell 10c tickets.

    Problem solved.

We all save hours of hassle acquiring tickets, almost every 10c member would get tickets to any show they put-in for, no fans panic and pay PJ premium prices and the GA winners would shuffle.

Why it won't happen?  This would hurt PJ's bottom line.  People would cancel all their extra memberships.  10c members sitting on hundreds of tickets they plan to eventually sell would help limit the fake scarcity and ultimately hurt sales.

I don't think there was a "GA only" option this time around.

This thread is just a glaring example of how consumerism has literally consumed a few dozen fans (maybe more) to the detriment of hundreds per show. Between the merch BS and the rail roadies, it just sounds like a lot of human greed. I guess you don't have to deal with even bros and lackluster fans like the rest of the plebes in the seats.

Never been interested in camping out for rail and seats are fine with me. The one concert I did have rail for (U2 in 2005) was because my wife's cousin was a super fan who did camp out and then we showed up a few hours before. Wouldn't do that again.
I won one of the 20 early entries for a Jack White show once. It would have been super cool, except that I was sandwiched between some of the PJ rail mafia for the whole show  (they were on vacation from following PJ, and I guess had to release their obsessive energy somehow). I was stuck with them because they'd used their tried and true trick of lying their way into getting my second ticket, so I was stuck entering with them. They were the most miserable fucks I've ever had the displeasure to be near at a concert because they just could not get over the fact that the Jack White crowd was much rowdier than any PJ pit in modern times, and they felt that their precious personal space was being invaded, LOL. I'm not kidding at all.

I think they did this. Instead of GA, P1 and P2 it was GA+P1 and P2.

I got early entry to a JW show in San Francisco...dead center with my son...one of the great shows I have ever attended.  No problems with fans around me (except for a couple of hammered folks behind me who were pissed that I was in front of them- I am 6'5")...Yonder bags keeping the phones put away and the focus on the concert...stoked to hear someone else got this perk too.....

The bags are gone for this tour. Great crowd in Beantown N2 this winter and rail only required a couple of hours in line (in sub freezing temps). Only issue was the drunk lady that pushed her way to the front yelling “It’s my birthday.” Sent her back when she tried to bring a 6’4” guy in an area of 5’10” and below. The overall vibe of the crowd was similar to PJ.

I don’t think there are people sitting on hundreds of tickets.

I like the current system.  Prior to 2022 I had virtually no shot at good seats if I didn’t get invited by a low number member or want to pay scalpers.  Fan to fan didn’t work so well in 2025 but I was still able to get some good seats through it.  You can’t get good seats to any other band for that price.  And I thought it was stupid when you had to waste your tickets if you couldn’t go.  Life happens sometimes.

So let's say that the band announces a show in my home city.  I get GA tickets, got time off work and going and want to go for the front of the line.

What do I do?  How do I know where to go?  How will these people know to get in line behind me if I am the first person there?  Is there like a social media group of a text chain where these things are planned?

Agreed, and 10c would get absolutely dragged on this forum when they wouldn't refund the sob stories.

But what we get now is everyone putting in for every show they might want to attend.  Then their +1 doing exactly the same.  And the most dedicated of fans using several accounts putting in for every show hoping to hit GAs they can trade for GAs to the shows they actually plan to attend.

The free transfer/selling policy creates scarcity that doesn't exist.

This policy causes dedicated fans hours and hours of misery attempting to grab tickets via resale.

This policy causes people to panic and buy PJ Premium, which has led to folks being upset online with pricing.

I'd love to see what % of 10c tickets are resold, I think it is very high.

I'm telling you, I think taking away the ability to resell would make everyone's life so much easier and even if we all had to eat a pair of tickets every few years it would still end up saving us money in the long run.

When I did GA for the first time in San Diego in 2022 and knew barely anyone in the PJ community, I went to the venue the night before the show, walked around and easily found the line of 20 or so people who had already started to queue. It's basically the same thing now, just show up and 9/10 times you will see the line. There was one notable exception and that is Raleigh this year where the camping spot was on the other side of the property, and the location was posted on the PJ Raleigh Facebook group. Venue security also directed anyone who wandered around looking for us where to go. I have also had plenty of people DM me and give me their contact info and I am always happy to help keep everyone in the loop.

For Pitt, the GA camping location was included in the Ten Club email that was sent out to ticket holders, although even if you didn't get the email you could see the line from the venue. I think this was done because two GA lines were formed after Raleigh N1 with the majority of people lining up outside the GA entrance before walking over to the camping spot. When we got there, there were three people already in line. A couple of the people from the larger line tried to integrate the three people based on how early they got there as the first two in the larger line, non-regulars (I had never met them before) didn't go to N1. One of the three people left and came back the next day and joined the end of the line, and I told PJ security what happened and they put the other two people who stayed (also non-regulars although I knew them from St. Paul) in front saying the camping location was the "official" line. That was cool because the first 5 people to go in Raleigh N2 either haven't or rarely do GA and they managed to figure it out.

When PJ plays a venue they haven't played before, I often look up where the camping line was for other artists which I find on those band's subreddits or Facebook groups. Paramore, 21 pilots, Billie Eilish and Jonas Brothers are usually who I start with. I am friends with the people who usually start the PJ line now and this gives us a good idea of where to go. I also just go to the venue and ask their security where other people camped and they're usually happy to tell me.

Such odd behavior for 50 somethings to engage in, but to each their own.  I mean, you can still get Eddie's sweat flung at you in the second row, along with a cool selfie, and avoid all the school age bickering.

I'm starting to think that at this point these aging crazies are almost more in it to have something to lean on, lol. I wonder if the band will last long enough for us to be able to watch them be physically unable to stand for the whole show... Are walkers allowed in GA?
I think this is probably a fair take personally haha. I'm not married and don't have kids and while that wasn't necessarily what I envisioned for me, the music and the friends I've made because of PJ have brought a substantial amount of meaning to my life. GA camping or not I suspect a lot of people can relate to that.

That said a ton of people who do camp or line up for more than 12 hours have families/children and way more career or financial responsibilities than I do. There are multiple people who are PhD college professors, people in the entertainment industry, medical doctors, commercial airline pilots (which I imagine helps with the travel costs!) there's even someone who's a state AG lol. I don't say this to be like oh look at them how special but rather offer the perspective that we're not all degenerates with no life, but rather just a group of like-minded self-proclaimed crazies that are very aware we don't have a lot of years left to do this so why not go all out now. Many people weren't able to go to a lot of PJ shows in the 90s/00s and are probably somewhat making up for lost time. Again there's a lot of people here who go to every show or the majority of shows on the tour who don't camp or even do GA with a similar mindset. And I mean, everyone here cares more than the average fan as we are on the fan club message board in the offseason with nothing else to do than talk about the band we all love and speculate when there may be more shows for us to go to. Also I'll mention again that the majority of overnight campers this tour didn't do it for every show. No one went to all 11, only 4 went to 10/11, and the rest were between 1-3 cities. I saw more new faces this time than I have in the 4 tours I've participated, a couple of who commented here and agreed that we're not all clowns. Although I admit there are GA people (both who camp and don't camp) I choose to spend less time around -- the scalper included.
