As a Minnesota resident, I'm disappointed because we'll be watching the 2020 destruction of Minneapolis for the next few months.
Is it a good pick? Sure. But I don't know that it's better than some of the other options and I don't see Walz (or anyone) moving the needle. It's Trump vs. Harris. So, selfishly, I wish she'd have picked anyone else.

Yeah, Trump will definitely try to claim he told Walz to mobilize the National Guard. For sure the angle will be the unrest after Floyd, but Walz did his job with those and has always been a pretty down to earth person. He's come to our college several times over the years to promote the trades programs and jobs they provide and when the '22 debate for governor was on campus.

He's got labor, teaching, legislative and military experience so he checks the most boxes. It is a pretty progressive ticket though so I don't think it pulls moderates in if you look at what he's gotten done under an all dem controlled state house, senate and governor. I think it's great, but I'm sure it's going to be labelled far left socialism in the attack ads.
