What is the deal with John F and breaking bread?
There are unresolved issues between John F. & Josh K. Josh was unceremoniously let go from the Peppers because John F. wanted to come back after a jam session with Flea.

Chad Smith remains cool with everyone, and Flea has had nothing but good things to say about Josh, albeit with some regret. Anthony has been tight-lipped on the whole thing, as has John F.

Josh has been doing his own thing, but has landed firmly as a touring member of PJ. He's proved himself 10 times over (with Ed & the Earthlings, and PJ), and the band is not going to do anything to make him uncomfortable, or be in a tough spot.

Booking or asking RHCP for Ohana (or any joint PJ venture) would do just that.

So, until more time has passed, or there's been some sort of summit (I tried shortening it with the aforementioned "breaking bread"), the 2 bands as their respective wholes remain quite separate.
It’s a real shame that there is a problem between John and Josh. The albums they made together were pretty cool, among my favourites from John’s non-RHCP albums.

Thanks... I should have made that connection. Makes sense.

I saw Josh with rhcp and he was great... He did seasons as a dedication to Cornell and blew everyone away

Thinking the whole Saturday was set-up with a vibe to suit NY.  So while I do feel like its most likely Alanis will just move to the Saturday headline slot, I think an older artist might be a good choice to suit the more chilled vibe.  Maybe Billy Joel or even (off the wall suggestion) John Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater Revival)...

The Avett Brothers would be great. They're set to be in San Diego on the 6th so that would work pretty well.

First Aid Kit isn't touring at that time but they'd be a good one.

Maggie Roger's has a break before her USA shows start the following week as well.

QOTSA is a pipe dream, but they'd be amazing. Might not be the right setting for them though.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Heart just cancelled the rest of their tour this year (good luck & fast healing, Ann Wilson).

So, I would like to submit their co-headliner as a dark horse option to replace Uncle Neil:

    Cheap Trick.

I love Jason and I’m from Alabama and followed him for 20 years but he is not a headliner for this festival. However, Zach Bryan is and you could easily add both Zach and Jason to this day and make quite an impact for missing Neil Young. Jason just opened up for Zach Bryan on a few different shows and stadium tours and they are both available that weekend. That would be a great day.

Both Zach and Jason love Pearl Jam too

He is playing bourbon festival the weekend before. It’s not that big. Just because you play stadiums, doesn’t mean you can’t do festivals that  are a little smaller. If Eddie called, he would jump on the chance because he loves Pearl Jam.

Appreciate all of the feedback and suggestions. I didn’t know about the RHCP/Josh issues. Dang. If they want to keep the Neil vibe bring in Wilco. Speaking of breaking bread, bring in Son Volt too and let them go old-school Uncle Tupelo on us.
It is more likely that there would be a Jeff Tweedy/Jay Bennett reunion than that there would be a Jeff Tweedy/Jay Farrar reunion.

(For the uninitiated, Jay Bennett is dead.)

Hey Soul Coughing is back, absolutely anything is possible.

(but yeah I’d put a Son Volt reunion somewhere around “less likely than REM” and “more likely than Fugazi. So basically impossible.)

So, they said they were done in the CBS interview, but MAN it was great seeing them (online) do Losing My Religion one last time at the songwriters hall of fame.

What if they did one more?

Same format as a few weeks ago, mixed with the Unplugged(s) they did??

    How the West Was Won
    The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight
    Me In Honey
    Strange Currencies
    Drive
    Losing My Religion
    E-bow the Letter
    Sweetness Follows
    Fall On Me
    Low
    Nightswimming
    So. Central Rain
    Country Feedback
    Electrolite
    Cuyahoga
    Man on the Moon
    Find the River

I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about the (VERY remote) possibility

Yeah we bought tickets for Bouben and Beyond to see. CRAZY HORSE.
12YEARS AGO we saw them in Cleveland Ohio at Cleveland State with Los Lobos very excellent show .
We wonder about the replacement band who it will be .
If Serria Ferral wasn't playing the next night she could or should be a headline band that band is tight and she should be as famous as Taylor Swift.
    Top notch singer and band
