I'm still a fan of those early Psychedelic Furs albums and saw them twice. The second time (November, 198) at the Kabuki Club in San Francisco. I took a short walk before the show and about 1/2 block from the door, I saw John Ashton emerging from a bar. He was all punked out and walked with this aggressive penguin-like stride. As we passed, he shot me a quick glaring glance and just sneered at me. A few steps later, I looked back over my shoulder and with a big grin simply said, "Alriiiiiiight!" That was so cool! It was like being in a movie.
And then as I approached the venue entrance, a gray limo swooped up to the front door and out of the back popped Richard Butler. A rather attractive blonde groupie called out saying, "Oh Richard, I'm So-and-so, you know, Stacy's friend." Butler threw out his hands dramatically and yelled out, "HAHA! Of course! Evvvvvvvery body is my friend! HAHAHAHA!", and ran off into the club. Awesome!

I have disdain for The Smiths, most notably Morrisey... I do realize the great musical impact they had on the world though so for that I get it.
Hah very fair. I can see how Morrissey would irritate some. Not my favorite by any means, but as you said, in a discussion of the decade worth at least one post.
I'm not a Morrissey fan and pretty much just neutral-- although I do like his contributions to 2005 rockumentary "New York Doll" (great film!)-- but why the hate for the guy?

I could be wrong, but I think I remember him getting hate for his outspokenness on topics such as race and pop culture. Also being somewhat of a diva. Maybe he enjoys stirring the pot 🤷🏻♀️ Got him attn that’s for sure. I’m also indifferent on the matter
