The # 34 jersey had absolutely nothing to do with Walter Payton or him being from Chicago or the Bears I guess
He specifically said it was for 34 years
The first time he sported that jersey was during the 2007 tour:

This year I mean. He said it at a show
I got that :plus_one: I just wanted to share some extra info

Ed says a lot of things at shows
  • Festivals are better than nothing but it’s not something I’d be pumped for.
I wouldn't be so sure of that when it comes to Jazzfest. Both Jazzfest shows they've played have been special in their own right. But the setlist from 2016, which is the last time they played jazzfest really stands out:

It Happened Today (R.E.M song, @ tape as band walked out after being introduced by Steve Gleason)
    1. State Of Love & Trust (this is the only time outside of ONE Lolla 92 show that State has opened a show)
    2. Arms Aloft (Joe Strummer cover. played twice that year, both at festivals, only played 17 times)
    3. Mind Your Manners
    4. God's Dice (dusted off for the first time in 28 shows)
    5. Setting Forth
    6. Corduroy
    7. Nothingman (ummm 2 vitaology bangers back to back, and imagine hearing Nothingman at like 5:30 in the afternoon as the suns going down)
    8. In Hiding (I mean come on? first time this tour after a 16 show absence)
    9. Even Flow
    10. Sirens
    11. Unthought Known
    12. Long Road (Mid-set Long Road request fulfillment from ed and the band, but holy cow how could you not love a sun-out Long Road at like 6pm)
    13. Daughter (no tag, but then going directly into the next song is a wild lineup of songs)
    14. Of The Earth (one of the last times it was played... my whole point in making this was you never know what you'll get when it comes to PJ setlists.)
    15. Last Exit (i mean are you not sold yet? Eddie and the band seemed to be very nostalgic for Vitalogy on the day)
    16. Porch

    17. Go
    18. Inside Job (Like WHAT?! but it's only a festival right?)
    19. Given To Fly
    20. Lightning Bolt
    21. Betterman (to round out the rest of the Vitalogy bangers, with a Save It For Later tag of course)
    22. Do The Evolution
    23. Alive

    24. The Real Me (being played for the first time in 31 shows, and with Big Sams Funky Nation on horns.... come on!)
    25. Rockin' In The Free World (with Chad Smith on drums)

Got Some and Garden were scratched for time from this set, and not swapped or replaced.

(and they still played more songs than they were averaging for this year  ;) )

Oh and for all those people who complained about the Dark Matter video wall behind the band, Jazzfest surely will not have it. So you'll have at least one Dark Matter show with no visuals, truly meaning they can play whatever they want.

The Long Road was for my brother
That set list was AMAZING.  Plus, getting done w/ a fest at like 7pm?  I'm into it.
If they dont do a show in ATL, want to play Shaky Knees next year, I'd appreciate that.
    98-Birmingham, 00-Nashville, 03-Nashville, 12-Atlanta, 14-Memphis, 16-New Orleans, 18-Amsterdam, Night 1 & 2, 18-Seattle Night 2, 21-New Jersey, 22-Imola, 22-Nashville, 22-Louisville, 24-Baltimore
    Ed Solo: 17-Louisville

For those that are anti-PJ35, or pessimistic, or whatever, then what do you think/hope that "something special for year 35" could be?
    Sphere.
I love it.  And I'm on board for sure, as I live close to Vegas.  But there's a surprising number of people who oppose the idea.  I'm very interested to see what kind of visuals that they come up with.
The more I think about it, the more I think it'll probably happen. Will just be closer to what Phish did than a full residency

Indications from people who typically are well connected, there are no current plans for a residency in Vegas or in Seattle.  Maybe someday, but more wishful thinking at this point.

There are currently no events scheduled on the Benaroya Hall calendar for 10/22/2025.

Would love to celebrate our favorite Hall of Fame Legends, PJ35 style :rock_on:

    PJ35 - Benaroya Hall - 10/22/25, 10/24/25, 10/26/25 - 10C Members Only

Just hoping if they do that they only allow 1 show person. Kind of like MSG in 2024. Then more people could go.

Yes, there have been reputable Sphere rumors.  Sphere isn't a one-and-done sorta place.

Someone ran into to Mike in beach past few days and asked him about Argentina and he said likely next year
  • I thought they celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the band at Vegas 2000 by playing Chloe/Crown for the first time….

Also he’s been wearing 34 since Donny J was found guilty on 34 counts :)

    They played Crown.

I really want to say they played Chloe at later shows, but Chloe/Crown together didn't happen until...I'm not checking notes here... Toronto 9/11/2011.
They were playing very stripped down versions of Chloe back in 2003. I know they did it at MSG and maybe a couple other places. Just Jeff's base and no keys. I think, like you said, the fuller versions didn't start until later.

I would love to see some NA dates in the summer, so teachers can travel to some shows without having to miss school days.

Would work better for us in Europe as well as we have later school holidays than the US. Our holidays are mid July to early September. So a June/July tour in the US and July/August tour in Europe would be better for teachers and those of us with children. Can’t see it though due to the timing of festivals

If a run in Spring and Nov is the plan, I could see a few summer festivals making sense.

    So Toronto in May? Excellent!
Crossing fingers for maybe a show in Montreal,
And a show or two in Atlantic Canada.
Atlantic Canada would be amazing! It's been almost 20 years since Halifax - mind blowing how old I am.

It would be so sweet if they did a 20th anniversary show / tour of Canada. *dreams

Indications from people who typically are well connected, there are no current plans for a residency in Vegas or in Seattle.  Maybe someday, but more wishful thinking at this point.
But didn't Facemeltor indicate that the Sphere was a good possibility? Maybe things have changed since he posted.

If it's a Indoor Venue(though, I doubt it) , I'll make every attempt to make it there.

If outdoor venue I may try anyway.

It went from being a near-lock, to 🤷‍♂️

My educated guess? Stone (or Stone + 1) probably made the point of "if we're going to play somewhere for awhile... then why not one of our home locations & benefit the locals?"

Someone (sorry, don’t recall who) posted a bunch of reasons why they felt PJ would play the Sphere. To which Facemeltor commented something like “this guy is onto something”.

But, was it ever said that it would be next year? I honestly don’t recall.

What I’m saying is, both could be true. PJ could indeed be considering a few dates at the Sphere, but perhaps not in 2025??

So, no PJ25, no PJ30 (of course, CORONA, you know), and now PJ35.... I don't think so.
But didn't Facemeltor indicate that the Sphere was a good possibility? Maybe things have changed since he posted.
It went from being a near-lock, to 🤷‍♂️

My educated guess? Stone (or Stone + 1) probably made the point of "if we're going to play somewhere for awhile... then why not one of our home locations & benefit the locals?"

So, maybe it's Seattle now, or maybe something else... I don't have any intel on that beyond what Facemeltor hinted at, or what I heard in The Cove.

(who knows, maybe @MikeDigs will get his wish lol)

I think you may be right. Stone was vocal about not wanting to play the Sphere, and I don't see EV pushing the band at this point in their career.
