It is an unfortunate phenomenon in our society that, even as crime has generally steadily declined over the past 30 years, large numbers of people have consistently believed that crime rates are increasing or at all-time highs.  There are at least a couple of reasons for this.  One reason is the sensationalistic and disproportionate coverage of crime on local television news and, in New York’s case, by the tabloid newspapers.  Another reason is that it is very easy for politicians to exploit people’s fear of crime to get them to vote.  Scaring suburban voters about purportedly out-of-control crime in Democratic-controlled cities has been a linchpin strategy of Republican politicians for decades.  Even here in L.A., recent mayoral candidate Rick Caruso said in a debate that “everyone in L.A. is scared to leave the house” because of crime. It was an absurd claim-- especially since he had people walking around in L.A. neighborhoods canvassing for him-- but there are a lot of people for whom hearing that from a would-be leader reinforces their belief that crime actually is historically high when it’s actually historically low.

My intent is not to dispute any of this or to point fingers at one political party or another. Rather, I'm making the point that tourists will always be more unsafe than locals -- they don't know the neighborhoods well and have trouble seeing signs of danger.

This idea of "the US is safe, other countries aren't" is bs. Lots of bad things happen to people every day in the US. And just like Americans have been advised to not travel other places, there have been many countries whose citizens have been advised to not travel here.
The topic was started as we were talking about South American rumors and how safe the area is. So...on topic...unlike say movie quotes.
Let’s do movie quotes all day over fear mongering about cities we don’t live in. Any day.

The funny thing is, on the outside, I was an honest man, straight as an arrow. I had to come to prison to be a crook.

    Last Detroit show was 2014.
They are aware of this. There will be 10-12 arena shows before the next nhl season kicks off, leading to full band at Ohana, followed by SA
Gonna bump this comment. It looks to be the closest thing to a rumor that we have so far for the fall. Hope they play Detroit.

I'm just incorrigible.  Someone will quote a movie and I will quote stuff for days until someone of authority says knock it off.  Even now, I have to fight every urge.  We didn't even scratch the surface with Wayne's World.  Also sad, because I had a fur baby picture coming at yous guys next.

Do you think an announcement of a fall NA leg might hurt ticket sales for the springs hence keeping a lid on it?

I did.  There was no quote.  So back to it then.

I find PJ to be one of the most irregular and unpredictable touring bands.  Maybe some people are into that and find it endearing.  No doubt, they can and have earned the right to do as they want.  I guess it just gets a little old with, 'maybe they'll do this and maybe they'll do that.'  Endless speculative hope.  It's one thing if there are legit rumors.  We got nothin'.  We have hopes.  We have dreams.  I guess that's enough?
Even me, when they were here in Philly in 2016 at the Ten show and Eddie was remarking on the 10 flag referencing how many shows Bruce played here saying we have to play X amount of shows every year.  I took that as challenge accepted.  Then, they didn't come back until 2024.  I guess one could count Camden in 2022, but that would be half a point in a full point system.
Even The Rolling Stones tour more frequently with longer tours.  Granted, stadiums.  So, no thank you regarding PJ.  Other than Wrigley and Fenway of course

The spring is sold out. Except premium tickets.
If anything it hurts the fall because people already made plans to travel for the spring. Still the answer is no.
There’s not enough dates for them to be worried about not selling.

Would a lot of you be happier if they released an album, played 100-125 shows, then went away for 4 years? Certainly some of their touring decisions in the last 20 years have been head scratchers, but i like that they are at least playing some shows pretty much every year. Its tough, touring would suck, especially when you’re 50 plus, and you cant blame them for not wanting to do it the “normal” way.

The spring is not sold out.  Guaranteed TM is holding a bunch of tickets to release closer to the date.  That has been their pattern consistently since 2022.

Bud……duh. ticketmaster has always done this for most shows. Not just PJ
I mean currently. As of now they’re sold out. Cmon now. That doesn’t change the fact it won’t hurt sales….they aren’t worried about 50-100 more tickets for each spring show

I was just being an a-hole in reference to your corrigibility (or lack thereof).

I share your frustrations with the touring schedule. It's only getting harder & harder to see these guys and I don't think it's going to get any easier or better moving forward, especially what with the direction the 10C tickets are going.

You sort of read my mind.  I was going to come back in here and post credit, where credit is due, since it seems they've been picking up the pace with touring.  Who knows if that will last?  Sometimes, it's just a little, only a little, bothersome that the onus and financial investment is on us to have to travel and see them when they have the infrastructure to do it.
If one isn't traveling and they don't play your city, then ostensibly they have gone away for four years.  Unfortunately, that's most cities and markets.  Like you said, it's a head scratcher.  We have sort of been forced into a travel or no dice situation.  Like I had said before, and no doubt you already knew this, they hadn't played Philly in 8 years with Camden for one night being the exception.  If someone is attempting to travel getting shut out of multiple tours (me) because demand is high due to there aren't enough shows around the country, then that also hurts our rabid fanbase.  Like an idiot, I paid for premium tickets on Philly day of sale, which I will never do again because now we can all see what Ticketmaster is doing.
Double edit:  When two premium tickets to two shows eat up what would have been the cost of 5 shows through the 10C.  Sure, my fault.  But, the rabidness.  Booo Ticketmaster.  Booo me too.  And boo hoo cry me a river.  I'll see myself out.
