Will August 26th be a good day for PJ?
I booked flights to Chicago and a hotel for 26th & 27th (Neil Young) ... skipping Oasis though. That night, hotels are $$$$

Booked a hotel last September for the 26th-29th for Oasis. Already have Neil Young tickets for the 27th. Staying a few blocks from Soldier Field. Only $700 for 4 nights, since i booked once the Oasis dates leaked.

There’s a rumored Soldier Field show later this year. My guess is if true, thats the date. If you want reasons why i think so, check last few pages. I posted why i think its the 26th, if true.

Announcement wouldn’t come until after Spring Tour begins, otherwise it would hurt ticket sales for Spring Tour. My guess is announcement comes out after Nashville shows but before Pittsburgh shows.

I think we get a “Make sure your membership is up to date” on the April 10th or May 10th newsletter.

Remember when this band used to announce shows 8 weeks in advance? No doubt in my mind something happens later this year.

Yes - 2006 leg 1, 2009 September shows (Vancouver, Portland), 2010 US all got announced with relatively short notice.  The concert industry tends to give more heads up however nowadays.

This Soldier Field thing I’m not buying.  A show of this scale would have all kinds of leaks by now and I would have thought this would get announced with tons of lead time to sell that many tickets.  Shows three years in a row in Chicago also doesn’t add up.

I’ve been wrong many times before, but it just wouldn’t make sense. UC to Wrigley to Soldier? 3 consecutive years. I know Chicago is a huge HUGE market for them, but with zero actual intel, only 4 months out, that’s a huge ask to fill that stadium. The amount of Wrigley tickets available around show date was shocking. You couldn’t give them away.

I had advanced a similar point earlier. Soldier Field is a nice thought, but not one bit of it adds up.

I doubt it too, but if it is happening, it has nothing to do with the Chicago market--it would be PJ35, a destination event in a central location for fans from all over.  PJ20 was hardly just a Chicago/Wisconsin event.

they never announce shows via the newsletter

It won't stop people from thinking so.

If the May 10th newsletter comes and we still don't have any solid leaks (sorry to the "I feel it" crowd) OR we still don't have a "make sure your info is current" tease, I think that's it.

Hopefully this means they've been busy recording.

Y'all want a hot take? What if...they drop a new live song on this 2025 tour and/or...over the next 8-10 weeks tease an upcoming album ? It wouldn't be the first time they've used a tour as a tease and we know they've been recording and writing.

Of course we know what happens with the set lists. They're written the day of the show and the setlist that gets taped to the stage may not necessarily 100% be what's played.

The idea of any show is, in the abstract, a nice thought. Beyond that I agree.

But did they play 4 shows in wisconsin/chicago the two years prior? No
the closest they played the year before was Indy, and the year before that they were nowhere close. All east coast if I remember
You don’t think they did all that on purpose knowing where PJ20 was going to be….cmon now!
I still don’t get why this PJ35 thing has any steam either. Not trying to be Debbie Downer. Just Richie Realistic I guess

I don’t get the whole 35 years either. They celebrated 20 years (as lots of bands do). Why would they have a 35th anniversary event?

What about Europe 2025? They just played a handful of shows and had to cancel due to illness. Berlin? UK? Or some shows in Italy or Scandinavia?

Unfortunally it all seems no europe in 2025.

Somehow since 2006 they only come to europe in the summer so its too late to announce anything.

    Hopefully they return in 2026

They most definitely will return in 2026. The UK “leg” for the tour was a complete joke. I guess they felt pressed for time, somehow🤷‍♂️, and only decided to do what they did. Which was a lil bit insane, really. Late announcement, so few shows, and completely out of this world prices, led to some egg on their face, without a doubt.
It’s pretty bush league to have done what they did, and i sincerely hope it opened their eyes. How they agreed to charge that we’ll never know.
I hope they don't pull that sh*t in SA, or they will be playing to empty venues

The size of their tour for 2024’s Euro shows fits with their current style of touring.  Short legs.  They went all the way to Australia/NZ to play 7 shows.

They are riding on the wave of a new album that has been widely received. Why wait 5 years for a 40th, when we they may not even be around then. Plus the band said to expect something special towards the end of year.

There's a well-meaning relatively-new-to-the-board poster who tries to wishcast things into existence that are never going to happen, and he started relentlessly referencing PJ35, and then others picked it up. He also posted every day for months trying to get the band to play the hidden track at the end of Yield. That didn't happen either.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

I don’t get the whole 35 years either. They celebrated 20 years (as lots of bands do). Why would they have a 35th anniversary event?
They are riding on the wave of a new album that has been widely received. Why wait 5 years for a 40th, when we they may not even be around then. Plus the band said to expect something special towards the end of year.
    When did they say that?

There’s nothing significant about 35 tho. I think that’s what you’re missing. Not that that’s not hard to do, but what’s to celebrate about that number specifically.
It’s divisible by 5 is all I got as far as significance.
Twenty made sense. 40 makes sense. The “who knows what will happen” argument still doesn’t add any significance to the number 35.
