Still going as of now.  If I skip PJ because of the issues that are ongoing, the only person who loses is me.

I'm 90% sure no fall tour, but haven't ruled out a destination event of some sort.

Only sure thing: we'll get Ed, or PJ at Ohana. Mostly likely Ed.

As always, card subject to change...
I think the Soldier Field show in Chicago may actually be a thing, and Maybe a theoretical date. Just hear me out.
    - PJ typically plays in Chicago the last week of August or the first week of September.
    - pretty much every day of that last week of August is booked at SF except Tuesday the 26th and Wednesday the 27th. PJ likes to play Tuesdays and Thursdays typically.
    - Oasis initially had plans to play 2 shows at SF, but are only doing 1. When asked if they would add a second date Liam said that there was nothing else available for that week, as it was booked up.
    - we know PJ likes to announce their shows 4-5 months in advance( last minute)
    - we know every other show that was dated for that week has announced, and clearly based off dates that they can flip the stages quick.
    - that week is also packed with shows everywhere else, which means lots of people from out of town.

My prediction: A PJ35 or anniversary show of some kind on Tuesday August 26th at Soldier Field. With 1 day off between PJ and Oasis for a probably elaborate stage.
Who knows, but is there a worse venue for an anniversary celebration?

I feel like the soldier field show could happen.  I just don’t see the PJ35 portion of it though.  Just because they don’t seem overly sentimental about such things these days.

Yes, we're still going. I refuse to let the orange one dictate where I find joy in my life. We will be keeping a low profile and leaving anything Canadiana at home. No Tragically Hip t-shirts, No PJ t-shirts from Canadian show dates. If things get even uglier between now and then, we'll re-evaluate. Hopefully my "eh's?" don't give me away.  ;)

My wife and I are going to Pittsburgh. We only have night 2. Hopefully we'll get night 1 resolved soon. It's a tough ticket.

I don't have tickets so I don't have the dilemma. But if a show was announced in Seattle or Bellingham (I'm in Vancouver) I wouldn't go. It would be a very small sacrifice for me in the larger scheme of things. This is more than just politics. It's about basic human rights. As for my countries sovereignty, people have died protecting that. The least I can do is miss a concert or change my vacation plans.  The earliest I'll cross the border is 2029 depending what happens that election (if there is one).

Yeah far too good a line-up to be true.  No way bands like the Pretenders, Devo, Black Crowes, Elbow, Manic Street Preachers etc are all so low down the bill...
No idea if it's real but they're in alphabetical order
And they're alphabetizing "The" under T.
You can make an OCD diagnosis simply by checking someone's CD towers for that
What kind of monster did not arrange their CD towers in alphabetical order? Seriously though.
But do The Black Crowes go under T or B?
    B. Only psychos use the "The" for alphabetical purposes. Unless you own cd's by The The. Exceptions are required.

But what do you folks do when the proper name is the band name? I.E:

Matthew Good Band, and later, his solo act,
    Matthew Good

Do both go under G? Or does the band go under M and the solo goes under G?

I've seen record stores put Ukulele Songs, RNDM and whatnot with Pearl Jam.

yes, that is not uncommon for one off side projects that otherwise wouldn't get noticed.

I don't know what I'd do if I had tickets. I'd probably still go. It's easy for me to say "I'm not crossing that border" cuz I currently have no reason to go there. But I'm not planning any recreational trips there while the not-so-great pumpkin is running things.

We had a trip planned to go to Houston to visit friends and catch a Metallica show.   We ended up cancelling the trip.  Reallocating the resources towards seeing Oasis play in Toronto (a band I've never seen, which is kind of rarity for me).   It doesn't feel right going to the U.S. right now.   Which is crazy because I've loved going to the U.S. my whole life.  Seattle is only 130km from here.  I see the Olympic Mountains every day.   Never put any thought into taking the ferry over in my entire life.  So weird to feel this way now.   I hope it gets better down there in the future, but to threaten us with economic crippling tariff's and annexation?   It's doesn't feel right to me.  I hope the situation improves with time, but I don't see any catalysts to make that happen.   The tough one would be of PJ announced something like the Gorge.  Dear God it would take all my willpower not to go.

The upside, is generally were not very adventurous people, so maybe it's going to Eastern Canada or Europe to get my PJ fix in the future :)

Yup...so I'd put both Matthew Good and Matthew Good Band under M.

For my fellow Canadians - are you still attending shows this spring or nah?

Hopeful for something this side of the border..sooner than later but not looking likely.
Hopefully my "eh's?" don't give me away.  ;)
By all means wear a Hip shirt! That orange idiot & his delusional sycophants don't speak for all of us. I'd shake the hand of any proud Canadian 🤝

ABSOLUTELY! I feel exactly the same way about Canadians coming to visit us down here. Our President and his followers are an embarrassment to us all. Elections have consequences and we are now having to deal with them. It sucks.

Yep, I’m glad to see people speaking with their wallets but if you do come don’t think you’ll be treated poorly. I’ll buy any Canadian a beer for dealing with this bullshit.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

it's almost like everyone else in the world visiting america has to act like americans do when visiting everywhere else in the world. bonkers.

For whatever it's worth, I'm really sorry about all this nonsense.
    Me too!

I guess the politics is especially relevant if it affects any of the tour plans.  Like if the tariffs would make touring Canada more difficult??
