The thread title really should be renamed to 2025 Tour "Hope" Thread. Over the past 13+ pages, there has only been one rumor and that was for the Las Vegas Sphere.
After the $$$$ success of Dead & Co., every major act is rumored to play there. I really hope PJ skips that temptation.
Like Matt said… it’s likely happening.
The venue is amazing. But I feel like for Pearl Jam to lean into what makes the venue great - the visuals - it actually detracts from what makes Pearl Jam great - a spontaneous and ever changing setlist. As a novelty one of one show it would probably be pretty cool. But a residency with a setlist that is static and needs to conform to a sophisticated video show is not how I prefer to consume my Pearl Jam. Doesn’t mean others won’t love it and I’m sure it will sell out every show. Just not for me. Which is fine.
Yeah, I'm not sure what they have cooked up for the visuals, but the current stuff on YouTube won't cut it. And they've already played the DTE card, so I'm hoping it would be something on par to what Dead & Co. did. Hardcore fans would riot (as they are now, lol) if it was a static setlist, but I think a few album shows mixed with hits & rarities would suffice. Put me down for Vs., Vitalogy, Yield & Gigaton (and sure, Ten, why not)
Hopefully they can serve two masters and come up with the right formula to make it work. Fantastic visuals and a varied setlist would make a for a great show. 😄

Exactly. I want to see the band. Not an Imax movie where Pearl Jam plays the soundtrack.
IMAX movie might be a little too over the top a description. If they could find a way to be spontaneous and vary the set lists it would be a fun run of shows.

Have you seen any of the footage from the Sphere? The band is a spec amongst a massive screen. It is bigger than Imax. I thought that was underselling it. Think planetarium on steroids all around you of you instead of above you. I get why it worked for Dead & Co. but not sure it translates for Pearl Jam. I have always appreciated Pearl Jam's minimalist approach to their shows when it comes to bells and whistles.

There’s very few one size fits all in life. It may not be your bag. And probably not mine. But I know a lot of people are looking forward to it and those who don’t dig it have the option to skip it.

I would not be going in expecting The Ultimate Pearl Jam Experience but seeing a wonder of a venue with music I like. Basically a Red Rocks pilgrimage on HGH.
WAY too soon to be thinking about 2025. Just saying. Have at it though. My two cents is that the "tours" are based on the festivals. Track festival announcements and then other dates will follow. Hope they come to your area soon as they are in mine this September 2024.
It's not to soon when jeff mentioned london and Berlin for next year. Everything else Is guesswork
Yes, it is too soon. That is social media content. Hoping to return means nothing. They (probably management) may be mulling over offers from festivals all over the world for 2025. Once they pick a festival (or two, maybe three), then other dates will follow. If they pick a festival in the UK or Germany then people will complain they should have a more intimate 10C only show. It is all so predictable.
When do they ever play festivals in the uk or Germany?
Hey everyone let's just close this thread. We're obviously wasting our time here.

Taking the question at face value, festivals in the UK I know they have played because I went to them -
Finsbury Park - 1993 Reading and Leeds - 2006 Hard Rock Calling - Hyde Park - 2010 Isle of Wight Festival - 2012 British Summer Time - Hyde Park - 2022

For better or worse, I have been following this band for a long time (yes, I am old). They have mentioned make-up gigs in the past to no avail. I do not pretend to know the UK or German festival market. Just saying, nothing is real with this band until it is. But by all means, if you have any real information, please share. It is fun to conjecture and try to guess. Have at it.
I have no information that it's happening just like you have no information that it is happening but this is a tour rumours thread so let people have hope.
And we've all been following the band for a long time 🤷

Sorry to be a voice of reason. Please carry on hoping they play near you in 2025.
It’s a rumor thread so people want to discuss possible scenarios for shows next year. It doesn’t really need a voice of reason that just throws cold water on the discussion.

Bruce is playing Wembley Stadium this year so I reckon he could be back at Hyde Park next year (as he’s definitely back in Europe for the make up dates), so it would be great if PJ played Hyde Park the same weekend.
What are the opportunities for PJ to do something really iconic / be a major career milestone next year? Over the past 10-12 years we've had PJ20, the first Wrigley show and the Home Shows that I would put into this category (not talking about the quality of shows, this would be a different list).
Would the Sphere be this? The Gorge? PJ34? (just kidding!)

Not looking to argue here but BST absolutely IS a big festival and they played it only 2 years ago... OK it does feel like a PJ show similar to the show at MK Bowl, but thats just the format of the festival. Its a series of one-day mini-festivals (or two-days in some cases like PJ or Bruce) but its still a festival where the headliners are paid to perform same as any other.
Also FWIW it's the only way they get to play in Hyde Park (as others seem to want) and due to it's eclectic lineup it's less likely that PJ will be booked to headline again next year. Too soon...

Hyde park is absolutely not a headline show. It's a multi-stage all day festival. It's even more of a festival than their recent NOS Alive booking.

Nothing is impossible, just that BST doesn't tend to repeat headliners so soon and because they also book pop acts and have the luxury of choice it makes it less likely.
O2 agreed. I know less than nothing about the bands plans but I feel like when they next play in Europe they will go the more traditional route with the festivals in play likely being Werchter and/or Pinkpop, Amsterdam and Italy getting some shows and the London shows at the O2. I'm hoping the mistake of the last minute switcheroo away from the O2 to the Tottenham stadium has been learned from...
I for one is putting a little bit more weight to the X post because it's Jeff's post. I can't see why a short make up tour in Europe next year would be so out of the question?
It's got to be a positive sign that a key member of the band has immediately said they would like to make up for cancellations next year. It shows that the idea is in their minds at least.
However there was some talk that Prague, Vienna and Amsterdam were all missed from this years tour because of insurance clauses from the previous cancellations. If that was true... and honestly who knows for sure?! ...but if it was, then it could also be true for London and Berlin and so it is very possible that the idea of makeup shows just won't fly.

Finsbury Park - 1993 Reading and Leeds - 2006 Hard Rock Calling - Hyde Park - 2010 Isle of Wight Festival - 2012 British Summer Time - Hyde Park - 2022
Hyde park was more of a headline show. None of the big festivals are hiring pearl jam
Hyde park is absolutely not a headline show. It's a multi-stage all day festival. It's even more of a festival than their recent NOS Alive booking.
Strongly disagree. Yes it’s an all day festival but I would still call it a headline show.
Agreed, it's not a festival. But it's probably the only chance to see the band outside in the uk now and I'd love them to repeat 2022

And we've all been following the band for a long time 🤷
Would the Sphere be this? The Gorge? PJ34? (just kidding!)
All good. Have at it.
Also FWIW it's the only way they get to play in Hyde Park (as others seem to want) and due to it's eclectic lineup it's less likely that PJ will be booked to headline again next year. Too soon...
I would think it'll be the o2 next year though
I'm thumbing my way back to Pearl Jam

But believe what ever nonsense you like
