How do I know if a ticket in my Apple Wallet that was added from my wife's TM account is valid? I was able to add her GA's for Seattle to my iPhone Apple Wallet and the "Hold Near Reader" icon is moving. She broke her foot and sort of still recovering, so may not make the trip...
A) sorry to hear about your wife's foot. If you have an extra GA for either SEA night, id be interested
Sadly, no clue about how that would work for you? I would assume, for now, that if you have them in your wallet already, they will be good?
Looks like the tickets are safely in my Wallet with no error messages, so should be good! If she doesn't come, unfortunately have like 6 friends in line...
Last year in St. Paul I had upgraded to GA on F2F and wanted to give my amazing reserved ticket to a friend. That was when we found out the wallet transfer didn’t work. We tried all types of ways including my signing on to his iPhone with my Apple ID and logging into my TM account from there. It still didn’t work. We even tried to disable Face ID. Still didn’t work. We ended up doing a very tense timed drop on F2F on the spot. Luckily he was able to get the ticket.
I remember the STP issues too, but last year if you didn't need to add to a Wallet to get in, couldn't your friend just have logged into the TM app (or web browser) with your credentials and used the ticket from one of those sources?
Last year I attended one of the Austin shows and never added the ticket to my wallet. I was able to get in with the barcode being scanned from my TM login.

Yes. They could have. But honestly we were so focused on the wallet thing we didn’t think of that until after.

Right. Last year you didn’t need to. That is what has changed this year. You actually need to add to a wallet.
TM is trying to stop bots by requiring a matching email account that the user is logged into at the time of the show?
If that’s correct what stops the broker from creating transferable email addresses to accompany the disposable TM account?
There are much easier ways to prevent bots from buying on F2F by simply identifying disposable TM accounts at time of purchase based on the account history.
It also requires multifactor/matching face recog to transfer the ticket to apple wallet as well as apple id, which will prohibit the third party sites/resellers from being able to sell all the face value/F2F tickets to people for over face...this is on iOS at least, still waiting for data RE: android.
If there are much easier ways to prohibit bots, and you know how, please DM me so we can start a business and cash in...
Bots for F2F - if brokers are using disposable TM accounts, that should be very easy for TM to identify based on lack of purchase history and record and location of shows attended.
Face ID , wonderful, and if we don’t use pr want to use Face ID?
What if I'm someone who had never attended a concert but after hearing Dark Matter, decided to create a TM account so I could buy tickets to see Pearl Jam. They should just assume I'm a scalper and cancel my tickets??

Right. I was going to say something similar. I have friends and/or family members who love attending shows but rarely are the ones who are purchasing the tickets. So what if they one day decided they wanted to create a TM account to do make the purchase themselves? Their accounts are going to be looked at as a “throwaways”? Highly doubtful.
-"North American tickets are non-transferable* and non-refundable. Pearl Jam has partnered with Ticketmaster to help fans get their tickets at face value. On the night of the show, all guests will be required to enter with the ticket purchaser." 10C ticket policy not sure if always been like this but seems maybe they are enforcing now.

or if you didn't know this was a thing, and download tickets to someone else phone and it created a permanent link... shrug.
This seems good and bad. Scalpers are figuring out fan2fan, and I think the same tools we use to give tickets to a spouse or friends, are also being used by flippers. Maybe it helps with the bot issue?
I suppose it doesn't stop resellers from making brand new accounts to buy tickets, then sharing the account. IF it permanently links to someones wallet, no harm no foul for the reseller?
This is an important point.
it should be simple for TM to identify new accounts, and fraudulent accounts, to stop F2F bots from buying tickets, without creating a mess for fans on the night of the show.
So, if my wife were to log into our TM account on her phone and download our tickets to a show to her phone, would I be able to log into our TM account later and download tickets to the next show on my phone?
That is the question. I guess we will see what people start reporting when they try all this stuff. I hope it works out for everyone. Each year they put more restrictions on these things.
Everything I'm reading (for iPhone users anyway) basically would prevent the transfer of tickets from a TM account to an Apple Wallet if that TM Account was already linked/associated with a different Apple Wallet / Apple ID. I don't know what first establishes a link/connection between a TM Account and an Apple Wallet, but I presume it is when someone first adds tickets to their Wallet, and the email address of that TM Account does NOT need to be the same email address as the Apple ID / receiving Wallet. For example, let's pretend my wife never moved tickets from her TM Account to her own Wallet, and then I go in and add her tickets from her TM Account (at this point, her TM Account is not linked to any Wallet) to my own Wallet on my device, I've essentially "stolen" her TM Account-to-Wallet link/connection. And then for future shows, I would assume she cannot add her own tickets from her own TM Account to her Apple Wallet. I think that's the gist of it. Unclear if any of this prevents scalpers/bots from essentially selling "virgin" TM accounts that are not yet linked with any Apple Wallet when they sell tickets. I have to imagine this is easy enough to do, with just a few extra mouse clicks.

Exactly, especially like most of us we have tickets to several shows... It's all moot now with the mandatory Wallet requirement.

So now we need an android or mobile phone. We need an Apple ID tied to a TM account with Face ID. What’s next, we bring a lawyer with us to a show? “I bought tickets on vivid therefore I am a ticket purchaser, let me in.” I realize that’s wrong but there are simpler ways to limit bots ability to buy F2F and verified tickets, without creating a tech nightmare 1 hour before showtime for fans.

Could be a lot of first timers, that would likely block out quite a few real people that legitimately are first time show goers (ive seen quite a few posting here on the boards)
FaceID OR Pin Code, whatever MFA you have turned on, point is MFA to ensure the ticket buyer is the ticket user...again, TBD on the actual details yet..
The bottom line is that there is a problem with "bots" and resellers, if this helps to combat those folks, then its ultimately a good thing...
We could all come up with a ton of reasons why it sucks, for sure, but alas here we are..

There is absolutely nothing wrong with expecting a little guidance from the powers that be about how this is supposed to work. Asking for that doesn’t make someone a shill for “bots”. Or a whiner.
It's somewhat understandable if it helps combat resellers. But if these resellers have found a work-around, or are just selling accounts, it doesn't seem like it's going to hinder them at all. The only ppl these latest measures will hurt is us. My Apple account is on a completely different email than my TM accounts. Is that gonna cause me issues? I've had a lot going on the last several months, so my last concert was PJ Austin. At that show, I logged into my account on another 10c member's phone and downloaded tickets to their wallet. Is that now gonna cause me issues?
There are a lot of different variables that seem like they could potentially screw over legitimate fans. It would just suck to fly out to some shows thinking everything's fine, only to be turned away at the door because some bullshit technicality won't let your tickets activate.

You can put the tickets in your wallet now. If no error messages, you should be good.
is Ticketmaster still down? Do they expect me to actually do my job and not F5 my 6 shows on repeat.
It's down now for me on the app. Just bought a pair for Black Pumas $50 all in with fees. First time I've found a band I wanted to see with this promo.

Sorry, I did a short cut of that idea, requiring a purchase history with a matching location to buy tickets, would be only for F2F for the first 72 hours after a ticket is posted.
Regarding the verified sale tickets, that’s a little tricker because yes, they need to allow first time buyers…perhaps TM could reject an intitial appplication for verification if there is zero purchase history, but allow first time buyers a second registration and only allow personal accounts and cc’s with GPS verification. This should eliminate many corporate accounts. Ironically, the verified sale may be the trickiest to stop brokers.
If we can only get tickets one of three ways…fan club, F2F and verified sale, stopping bots in two of those categories could be a big win for fans.
