i know! not to be a complete nerd... but for a while i was looking at a star wars movie poster book that i really wanted, similar to what PJ is putting out which was close to $200 as well.
i just can't force myself to spend that kind of $ on a book. that $ can go to better use.
art/photography books are expensive to print and they are heavy
take a look at the books with audobon prints, wegman, hirschfeld or sports, big $$$ for quality, never mind signed and numbered ltd slip cover editions-some of those go into the thousands.
the $14 dollar charge is reasonable if its sent priority, which has a minimum charge of $10 anyway
I got mine. Tough choice to make, sales are on the slower side market wide, money is tight. but you can't buy the enjoyment I'll get.
I want it. I need it. I felt a rush when I got the post on myspace.
and now I'm glad.

Curious if anywhere in this thread the actual "size" of the book/pages has been found out??
Maybe if it's a decent size there are some frameable pages....that could be worth the $50. I'm not a poster collector so the $200 is ridiculous for me to spend...but for those who spend a fortune collecting posters anyway, I can imagine they are pretty stoked.

If you think about it, I'm sure many of you have purchased a PJ poster that you had to have for $60, $70, $80+...now you get them all with a bunch of cool extras in one effin book!
You might be able to buy it cheaper through Amesbros.com.
I got an email from Ames and it was the same price.
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
that is expensive.. but hey theats why you work so you can earn the money to buy this stuff! Least they have the $50 one as well so thats very reasonable if you can't afford the $200 one...
in addition, as art, design and architecture books tend to be on the pricy side, the asking price for the $50 version is actually a deal and the $200 version is not out of line...heck this isn't your typical tour program at $20.

absolutely!
anyone who possibly thinks the price for either of these books is too *much*...really isn't into art books. i don't think i've ever spent under $50 for a hardcover art book, i've even spent MORE for a softcover book at times! such books are pricey by nature, simply b/c of their production costs. $50 is a GREAt deal...and even the limited edition.....32 extra pages......mylar overlays....debossed slipcase...pricey, pricey, pricey to produce! add in the signatures and limited run, tis a great deal. that said, i don't need all those *extras* as tempting as they all sound...so the $50 version is simply perfect for me.
edit - obviously, those extras ARE too temptiing for me, i caved and bought the SE verison. eh well, i am sure to love it!
If anyone has St.Louis 98, St.Louis 2000 those are the only posters I couldn't get. I've been to 18 shows and just need two posters if anyone could help that would be great.
If anyone who went to Munich show this summer did you stay the next night to see The Who?

I was at the Munich show ... did not see The Who, but, did meet Joey Kramer of Aerosmith in the hotel bar of our hotel ... Aerosmith was playing around that time as well.

I wouldn't give him one dollar
If I had an extra 2 bills that's not what I'd spend it on anyway
but $200 for that book/poster deal smells of a money grab to me, personally. No offense.

are the 3 posters that come with the special edition normal size? or are they 9x12?
i can see 200 for the special edition if it comes with 3 normal size posters, even though it's pretty high for a book.
and i think i have some time since there are soo many s/n copies. his wrist must hurt from signing so many
