I fell like since Indy is rescheduled . That next year 2024 means Midwest states tour start Chicago IL Indianapolis IN Cincinnati OH Columbus OH Cleveland OH Detroit MI Pittsburgh PA East Coast tour 2nd leg West coast tour 3rd leg Canada start in Haflex End in Seattle WA Not for sure Just saying
They won't play Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland in the same tour
They could
They won't
There's no need. They know fans will travel. Hell, someone from friggin Bogata was seen in Indy.
The fall 2020 tour was rumored for Pittsburgh, Columbus OR Cleveland (not both) and other various cities.
I also wouldn't be surprised if they set up a "hub" in a major city and did a few shows around that city. Does anyone know if they were rooming in St. Paul for those shows? I wouldn't have been surprised if their plan (or maybe Eddie's plan) was to go back to Chicago for a few days after Indy before heading to Texas.
In 2016, didn't they base in Orlando for the Florida shows?
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
To get this thread back on the rumor focus, here's a rumor from Facebook that the Indiana show will happen in May:
“Ruoff workers got the “we need to meet” text at 1:25, learned show was cancelled. Stage was getting built/lights up, that stopped and was torn down by 5:30. They shut down parking lot at 4:30, people still rolling up at 6:30/7:00 that didn’t know show was cancelled (driving in from out of town, hadn’t been on social media). I think band was to fly in at 4, but somebody must’ve woke up sick. They asked about September 23rd, but Ruoff already has Farm Aid, so looking like next May. No date set yet.”
It’s funny, life on the road is hard. Long nights, hotels, etc. You get up there in age, and it gets harder.
Not being able to even get to show 5 is so frustrating…it’s difficult to even get amped for a tour 2024…in all seriousness…how many shows do we honestly think they’ll do? Even with a potential album, it’s rumored that a few of the band hate touring..and now all this…Do we really see this band doing a world tour that includes 15-20 North American Shows?
My advice (from my own experience) is go crazy and balls out to get to a show close to you. Buyer beware banking on these shows hopping in where you have to fly in…it’s a weird world out there right now with illness, and given the rash of older bands bailing on shows…be careful.

It’s not just illness making traveling to shows a risk anymore. Travel in general is a gamble, many of my flights since 2021 have had issues, including a New York flight in late June being abruptly cancelled with no alternative offered. Climate change is another factor, they had to cancel Vienna last year due to wildfires which are causing poor air quality all over the globe each summer. I’m surprised they don’t focus more on west coast shows, specifically Seattle. Seems like the perfect solution if certain members of the band don’t enjoy touring at this point. They could play say 5 shows at Climate Pledge Arena over the course of a summer along with a weekend at the Gorge and probably sellout all of them. Another option is a ballpark tour where they could play say 8 shows in front of massive crowds at a few large cities.
I'll probably wait until after the "tour "to ask this in it's own thread, but does it even make sense to be in the fan club anymore? After 20 years of never letting my membership drop, my seats have never gotten better. In fact, they've gotten slightly worse. That's due to a number of things and decisions by the band and ticketing.
But I could have bought better face value seats to the show I was supposed to go to, then I had with my 20 year membership number. Or at least very similar seats.
Then throw in that they are barely touring and then canceling more and more shows, I'm just seriously questioning why I bother. I should just sit back and wait until they happen to do a show within close driving distance to me. They might be 70 by then, and the show will likely get canceled, but at least I won't be out the years of membership fees and several hundred dollars in travel expenses.
The canceling I kind of understand. But making the fan club membership useless and valueless is an odd decision by the band.

My gut instinct it that 2024 will look like 2022. US split into two legs of 8-10 shows each with a 12-15 date Euro tour in the middle. Playing Indy and East Coast US (incl Miami, Boston etc) and then a few other places like Seattle. Euro tour with the usual countries (U.K., Germany, Netherlands) and a handful of others including the two 2022 cancelled (Czech, Austria). The band seems to like to tour the US in April, May and September, and Euro in June/July. Been like that for quite a long time now

Lollapalooza France. Dust and forest fires. That was the official explanation. Always wondered if all the other singers who performed there had problems afterwards.
Deer Creek gets to be first on that tour😏(if they don’t swing thru the night after Farm Aid, which would be rad)
They totally should do that.

Highly unlikely but I would love it if they did!

Vote For Change?
In 2004, a bunch of artists got together and teamed up for a swing states tour to register voters. PJ toured with Death Cab for Cutie and went to some out of the way arenas, like a smaller one in Asheville, NC.
