I refuse to believe that "big things" is a 9 show tour over 5 cities. Or 10 shows in 6 cities if you want to count Ed's performance at Ohana. It either has to mean more tour dates or an album.
But it's not like this band has ever said "hey, here are some shows we're doing in September, but don't worry, we're doing a bunch more after that!" I suppose a new album would be considered big news too. But you'd think there would be more shows if that were the case. I can't foresee a scenario where only a percentage of shows get leaked and not the rest? So weird
Someone mentioned that dimi said it would be 15 shows. If that's the case, then yes, it is weird that we only know of 9.
I thought he said between 10-13.

Backspacer was released on 09/20/09. I wouldn't mind getting all of it for Austin N2 on 09/19🙏
Or at least some of the stuff from PJ20 which was released on 09/19/11
Backspacer isn’t my favorite record but I don’t know why they don’t play Got Some more. A quick punchy fun tune has lots of potential uses in a setlist.

I would honestly prefer a mid song like that over the campiness of “I was there for one of the 3 Sweet Lew performances.”

IMO, Johnny Guitar is the only weak track, but I'm sure Ed wouldn't mind belting it out one more time for ol' Johnny.

Hope I'm wrong, but thinking the announcement is coming on the 20th since all is quiet from the greek, santos, every radio station/venue social media.
someone posted earlier that it was announced on an Austin radio station.
Probably based on this forum thread haha

Backspacer rules! Should be a lot more of that live.

9 and 6 in Australia…Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland NZ.
My son’s name is Auston! Is my wife surprising me with a private show? Do I need to hire a p.I to determine if she’s hiding bank accounts with money from me?
the fact that this page is blowing up over 6 to 8 dates after the tour they put out last year doing only 1 nighters in places like nyc and philly is kinda sad. i dont mean to be a bummer on what is hopefully a "big" announcement day but this band has become all about the easy dollar hence the flat rate 10c membership, the vinyl releases which seam to happen every other month now, and many other examples.... also the age excuse is garbage. for example Bruce has an average band age of 69, tours constantly. DMB has an average age of 56, 45+ shows a summer. Motley crue average age, 64. tours constantly (although they probably shouldnt) lol. PJ? 58.... and we get 1 GOOD tour every what, 3 to 5 years? 2013, 2016, 2022 kinda. they are phoning it in. hell even the shows we do get, 2016 philly was 32 songs. msg 2022 was 24 because they now use openers? come on. I know most of you are gonna s**t all over this post but it needed to be said. hopefully the "BIG THINGS" announcement changes that
I think it's pretty obvious a member or two doesn't really enjoy touring anymore. Getting them all to agree on a longish tour is probably a hard thing to get done.
Good for them for being financially stable enough to have choices. Not great or us though.

There's a lot of dislike for this album for various reasons but I find it superior to Lightning Bolt and Gigaton at least.

A vague email stating we should update/sign up for a membership. Alluding to a possible upcoming tour. I'm starting to wonder if it's just a way to get previous Ten Club members and potential new members to sign up.

At first I didn’t like Backspacer at all really other than a handful of songs. But it’s grown on me and held up over time more than even Lightning Bolt did, which i liked at first but now rarely listen to.
