I really don't know how there will be an announcement today with literally zero media/radio buzz.  ugh
Our local radio NEVER knows before fan club..so this isn't really a thing

No radio station chatter. That Philly announcement turning out to be Metallica is a killer.
Ouch yeah Philly would probably be one of the places I’d drive too see them or Boston! So what is it about this band I wish they would just have the guts to state hey folks we don’t like touring as a band anymore! Beatles did it lol, it’s hard to think otherwise you can’t tell me this is band that likes to hit the road every year, like Bruce or DMB etc etc etc
jesus greets me looks just like me ....

The Philly announcement was a week of concert cash contest and MMRBQ lineup will be announced on Monday at 8am. It’s usually held in May, but now will be happening in September this year

They clearly do not.  They show up when they need money.  And we take what we can get.

Looking back at the 2022 announcement on Mar 14th it was very quiet too aside from the newsletter on the 10th. Radio chatter outside the 10C world really does not mean anything imo. The only reason we knew it was that day for sure is because the tickets for the rescheduled dates were changing status that morning but before that we were all guessing just as we are today.

Also Pearl Jam announced it on social media at 10am Pacific sharp.

You're saying the quiet part out loud.

It's been a long, long time since their outfit really had the gusto of a band who loves to tour.

Definitely need to coordinate an announcement with radio hype, for the 47 people that still listen to the radio. Maybe they are waiting for ad's they want to put in the newspaper to get approved, too.

Radio is awesome. Where else can you hear Imagine Dragons every hour, on the hour?

To be fair, I actually do listen to a lot of radio. It's become increasingly easier to win concert tickets. I assume that is due to the drop in listeners.

Nah.  They want more money like most people.  They want to fund charitable endeavors, living expenses, college funds, and take care of employees.  They don’t want to dip into principal for that.

    Agreed.

To think they only tour when they're hard up for cash is laughable.

Are they going to put up $450 band signed posters from Mike's stash today?

$405.00 would be more appropriate. (I don't want to buy one on Ed's birthday!)
    This weekend we rock Portland

See my earlier post.  They aren't broke.  They do only enough to get the earnings they want (my opinion).  I'm extremely jealous of their situation.   They built an annuity stream that requires them to tour about 3 weeks a year and every so often make an album.

As we saw w/ Jeff's poster sale, they have other ways of generating revenue that don't involve upending their personal lives for months at a time if they were so inclined.
